First of all, PF needs to concentrate on being a fitness center and not a brand. They're try to distinguish themselves from other fitness centers by taking this odd "non-lug head" approach to the fitness space which, honestly, I don't think ever bothered anyone before Planet Fitness made an issue out of it. They made me put my jump rope away and told me I couldn't bring it into the gym! They have young staff members that look like they don't work out. The place needs an alternate free weights section, that's non-negotiable for real fitness folks. I'm not paying money for any gym that does not have free weights for bench pressing and squatting. I worked out at Planet fitness for a total of one day and have never been back. I had a month to month membership that costed $10 a month. And then, when I stuck my head in there again one day, thinking about going back, they tried to stick me with an $80 charge that they claim I owed them! They never did explain that to my satisfaction, giving me some foolish rigmarole. I went in there just the other day and they would not let me look around the facility without an escort and then they said "but she's busy with someone else right now you'll have to wait." 🤨 I can remember when the answer from staff at a gym used to be "Sure, take a look around!" Needless to say I walked out.
I'm 58 years old. There is nothing "more advanced" about the way this society has gone in all nine areas of human activity. Technology has not made life on Earth more tolerable ( often it's exactly the opposite ) and lawyers and litigation have made it absolutely absurd. Business has overcomplicated itself, out of touch with what consumers really want. Technology has only served to make them MORE inaccessible in terms of customer service. Thus, the QUALITY of most businesses have suffered tremendously these last two or three decades.
The Planet Fitness locations are convenient but take your money somewhere else, it's an annoying hassle, at least for old-school gym...
Read moreWriting a review so that this can be fresh. This planet Fitness location has an overnight staff member that is there when I get there at 6 am. This Planet Fitness staff member started a verbal altercation with me on Thursday 3/2/2023. This is the 3rd verbal altercation this Planet Fitness staff member has had with separate planet fitness customers since January of 2023. This Planet Fitness staff member was there this morning 3/6/2023 and informed me that I can no longer use the location per their manager. They did not have this in writing. Nothing has been sent my email address on file or to my app. I called the manager and she states that she's getting multiple stories and cannot validate anyone's claims. I explained that's fine, I'm not trying to force my way into that location. It's equal time to another location. I asked for a written report or summary of her findings to be sent to my email or to the app. She didn't have one and would tell my home location that I can't use the Oak Street location. So I don't know if there will be an official report on this sent to me. I'm placing this here in a public space so that when this Planet Fitness staff member has another verbal altercation that goes further than the 3 that have happened so far did, law enforcement and/or legal counsel can reach out to me on this issue.

I have been trying to cancel with them for well over a year now and it's getting to the point where they are going out of their way to harass me even though I have gone in person to cancel multiple times at multiple locations and every time "their machine is acting up". They will pull dirty tricks and lie to the banks. BE CAREFUL TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DATED INFORMATION EVEN THOUGH THEY TRY TO STOP YOU FROM SENDING EMAILS BECAUSE THOSE HAVE TIMESTAMPS! AND TAKE PICTURES OF THE EMPLOYEES THAT ARE GOING TO LIE TO YOUR FACE TOO I WISH I DID. DON'T LET THEM LIE TO YOU THAT YOU NEED TO MOVE CLUBS TO CANCEL BECAUSE THEY'LL TRY TO LIE AND SAY THAT'S YOU SIGNING A NEW CONTRACT WHEN IT CLEARLY STATES OTHERWISE. Edit: There's no way for me to reply to your lie about handling this over email so no I will not be wasting my time emailing some generic planet fitness email. I have emails dated back at least 6 months from you all saying you won't do anything over email. I'm having to change banks and cancel cards to deal with you so how about you forward this to whoever your damn self and stop charging me for a gym I haven't used in at least 18months...
