Disgusting Management and Disrespectful Service - AVOID AT ALL COSTS
If you value your peace of mind, avoid this place at all costs. This so-called "student housing" facility is the epitome of inconsideration and disrespect towards its residents. My experience was nothing short of a nightmare.
I subleased an apartment on a Friday and paid $1,389 upfront. Everything seemed fine—I got my keys and started moving in. However, because the payment hadn’t yet processed (despite confirmation emails received by both myself and their staff), I was told to leave the building by a security guard, less than 30 minutes before midnight. Mind you, I’m an out-of-state female student, stranded in a new city with nowhere to go. They couldn’t even wait until the morning to resolve the issue.
To make matters worse, before I even got my keys, an employee named Tatiana had to verify the payment with an email confirmation. So why the hell was I suddenly being told to vacate in the middle of the night? And to add insult to injury, they wouldn’t even let me stay with a friend for the night. The property manager—who, by the way, never had the decency to speak to me directly—just relayed cold, impersonal messages through her staff.
As I scrambled to get my belongings out of the apartment, the security guard tried to slap me with a $175 parking fee because they conveniently “ran out” of parking passes. This was after I was explicitly told it was fine to park there and was put on a waiting list for a pass.
The next day, I returned to cancel my lease out of sheer frustration and confusion, only to be told that it had already been canceled—without any proper explanation or communication. Later that day, in my desperate search for housing, I received an email that the price had dropped. I went back to inquire about signing a new lease, only to be informed by the property manager (through a worker, of course) that I was not allowed to re-sign because my previous lease was canceled.
This place is nothing but a money-hungry scam. They do not care about students or their well-being, just about milking every dollar they can get. The lack of communication, the disrespect, and the sheer disregard for residents' safety and security are appalling.
0/10 would not recommend. Save yourself the stress and find somewhere else to live.
I’m writing this review, my second in less than three days, because the situation with Yugo just keeps getting worse. I moved into their property on August 16th around 6:30 pm and was shockingly kicked out by midnight on August 17th. After paying $1,389, I discovered that my lease was being canceled without any warning, yet they still had the audacity to charge me the full amount.
When I returned to the office on August 20th to try and resolve the issue, I remained calm and polite. I greeted everyone with a "good morning" and asked to speak with the property manager, only to be told she wouldn’t be available until Friday. I then spoke to a staff member named Derek, who claimed he was unaware of my situation. After I explained everything, I was told to wait in the conference room. What happened next was beyond outrageous—an officer came in, accusing me of criminal trespassing and being "aggressive," even though I had not shown any aggression at all.
This is my second review because of the horrible treatment I’ve experienced in such a short amount of time. The staff at Yugo has been completely disrespectful, trying to make me look like the problem when all I’ve been trying to do is resolve the mess they created. They don’t care about their residents—they just want your money.
I’m demanding my money back, and I will never return to any Yugo property. If you value your sanity and don’t want to be treated like a criminal for simply trying to fix an issue, stay far away from this place. This has been a nightmare experience, and no student should have to go...
Read moreHonestly, this is easily the worst living experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been at Aspen (which is now Yugo, I guess) for a while. I’ve seen and experienced wayyyy too much here and only stayed for convenience, but please take my word when I say that it is not worth it. I could write a book on the bad experiences and the things that are a waste of time, but the reviews speak for themselves.
Gates, vending machines, elevators constantly get broken. Maintenance takes forever to fix issues and even when they do, they often leave unfinished. Car break-ins, non-working cameras everywhere, unsolicited “guests” wandering the building every night… the list goes on.
I always stated that I’d wait to leave a review until after my lease is up in July, but I’m truly fed up. This past weekend, I left my apartment to find a homeless man in front of my door (yes, inside of the building)… when I went to the office to express my concerns, the girl working there looked me dead in the face and said that she saw him there but assumed it was my guest so she didn’t report it, I guess since it’s normal to have guests sleep in the hallway right? Didn’t ask if I was okay or anything.
She didn’t call someone to have him removed until I stated that I didn’t know them. It’s clear that nobody here takes the safety of their tenants seriously at all, regardless of what they may tell you. Btw, we spoke to the new Property Manager, she’s nice. But, she stated that her employee didn’t even mention the incident to her nor did Yugo inform the other paying tenants of this building about what went on. The PM is new and she cannot be blamed for the mess that she decided to walk into, but I’m tired of everything being swept under the rug. She’s been here long enough to see the issues going on.
Unless you are in a chat with other tenants don’t expect to know anything about what goes on here… the property going to tell/alert you. They’re quick to send out emails and texts about what we can be fined for but when they are in the wrong, it’s crickets. So many things have happened here and I can probably count MAYBE two community alerts that were emailed to tenants about potential safety concerns. Note to new management: please don’t continue this pattern
Please do not get swindled by any promotions being offered, whether it is discounted rates, bonuses, free parking, etc. It’s not worth it. Literally go anywhere else.
I wish the best of luck to the new management but I highly doubt anything can be done to...
Read moreSo I lived here the second year they were open, signed my lease during the first year. The first year kids RAN THRU this complex. If I could’ve known it was going to happen like that, I wouldn’t have signed my lease. But they don’t let you back out of it of course. Multiple break ins every night, I’ve had my car broken into and when I addressed it with the management team downstairs they didn’t even care. Parking passes for guest were nearly impossible to get, the garage didn’t work anyway. Definitely don’t buy a reserved spot because ppl throwing kickbacks will just have their guest park in your spot and it takes forever for aspen (now yugo) to even get a towing truck to move them out. Randoms that don’t even go to any of the schools in Atlanta frequently find their way into the building harassing you to buy stuff, or let them in. If the Mail lockers are full the mailman will just sit ur mail in the mailroom for anyone to take, and they will, so you better run. Rent is crazy you might as well just get a regular apartment where it’s 9/10 safer for the same price. Fire alarms went off every night at like 3/4am because of the kickbacks so if you not only go to school but have a job too you can forget about getting rest. Like I said I was there the second year it was open, our stove was burnt from the previous tenants, and the remote they gave us for the tv was chewed up from the previous tenants pets. We had patched up holes in our walls that were never painted over, and it look like the previous tenants were pretending they were in bad girls club because my bathroom door and my roommates bedroom door both had huge holes in them (which they never fixed in my entire year of living there despite saying they would). Pool was never open, and when it was it got shut down quick because of the parties. Sky lounge or whatever was rarely open. Rooms are small as hll, but the closet space and bathrooms were nice in my opinion. I lived in a 2br by the way. I thought about breaking my lease at one point but I lived too far from school to suddenly move. If u for some reason wanna stay here I suggest staying on the 5th floor because that’s the only floor they cared about being presentable since that’s the floor ppl toured on. All other floors smell like dog sht and pee bc these no home training college students let their pets do whatever. In all, you’re better off in regular housing or in a...
