"Austin" Building by Ellsworth Kelly — Attraction in Austin

I think that, since it's listed as a museum/ at gallery, a lot of people go in with the wrong expectations. Think of it as a modern sculpture that is a building. One way to look at it is by imagining the stained glass as paint, creating slightly different works on the inside every day. So when you go in there, you're seeing something no one else will (even if you went when the sun is in exactly the same position, would cloud cover be the same?). I think it’s necessary to push one concept to an extreme level (like minimalism), you can decide you love it, or hate it, or maybe not so minimal we still need something else in life & art, but I appreciate someone is pushing...

Nice quiet space. Avoid going on an overcast day. It’s probably more interesting to see the shapes of the colors cast onto the walls when the sun is not diffused by clouds and is at an angle that is not directly above the building.
