I have been following Turrell's pieces for awhile now. I was really sad to have missed his exhibit at LACMA, so when I heard they had installed a new one at UT, it immediately got on my list to visit. We are blessed to have 2 installments in Houston and another in Austin.
This one is on the 3rd floor of the SAC (student activity center). It is open to the public, and does not require an ID to enter.
When you get to the 3rd floor just make a right and walk outside onto the rooftop patio area. They do have reservations online, but there isn't anyone there to take them. It's a bit hard to find but worth the time looking for it. Inside the Student Activity Center, there are no signs nor location pamphlets guiding you to the installation. Some of the students aren't even aware that this installation exists. Thanks to Google maps, it pointed us in the right direction.

The Art venue and installation of «The Color Inside» is a much needed thing for Austin and one of those moments in life where we reflect and become aware.
