Yoga in a Salt Room

My significant other and I came to the birth moves hosted by Mariya! Mariya was so welcoming the second we showed up! For being our first time coming she was able to talk about the salt and let us know that we could taste it in our mouths by the end or have a potential runny nose (tissues right next to our mat). That was just the first part, but our time with Mariya was above and beyond. The moves class was so informative and I would totally recommend to anyone (1st time moms, someone who already has information, someone who has or hadn’t taken a birth class). I think there is something for everyone to take home with them. I was fortunate to have my partner come with me and even though he is not carrying or having the birth himself he was still able to leave with more of an understanding and more knowledge. One thing I loved is the pelvic prop that Mariya had I am a very visual person and it was great to see how our body moves when we breathe. Everything was clean and so organized. Mariya also let the floor be open for any comments or questions. Thank you Mariya for an awesome time and experience. I definitely would recommend the Austin salt room! :)

I am new to salt therapy. Last week was my very first experience and it was great! I attended Friday’s Salt Therapy Yoga session with Callen. She focused on mobility that day which was just what I needed since my shoulder had been giving me some issues. Experiencing the salt in the air was an extra self-care bonus. About halfway through the session, you feel your sinuses clearing out (they conveniently had a box of tissues available). You also taste the salt in the air, which was fun—it definitely wasn’t overpowering. I was excited to hear that salt therapy has skin benefits too! I’m big on skincare and always looking for natural ways to improve my complexion. I’ll be back and look forward to seeing how salt therapy improves my overall health and well-being! -Katrina from Tryumph Speech Therapy

As a first timer to being surrounded by The Salt, the experience was pleasant. I didn't really know what to expect and had called the day prior to ask a couple of questions regarding safety, and the owner who answered kindly explained and answered my concerns.

The interior is calm and private, no outside noise was noticeable, and we were all greeted with tea as we took off our shoes and prepared for The Sound Bath Salt Experience.

Of note is that this is an active salt cave with a halogenerator aerosolizing salt particles intended to be breathed in. Be sure not to bring any electronics or sensitive items that can be damaged by exposure to salt-rich environments.

Parking may potentially be difficult with a small lot due to the small building, but as long as you arrive a little early there shouldn't be an issue.

Overall, for someone who had no idea what they were getting into, I enjoyed the experience thanks in part to the atmosphere and...
