Editing my review. This is as of 10/202, but leaving the old one for reference.
I have been a member of Iron Vault for over a year now, and well, I hate it. You CAN get a decent session in. 24/7 access is nice. And it does have a nice selection of equipment. But, I no longer feel comfortable training here. Unless you are, and I quote “one of the boys,” or young, hot, skinny, or all of the above, you will NOT be welcome here. At least, I don’t feel welcome. I am a single mother. I’m middle-aged. I am not small. I love to train. And I train HARD. I have every right to be in the gym as I pay, just as anyone else does. That doesn’t matter. If you aren’t in the “Bro” Clique, you WILL be mean mugged. I am trying to prepare for a comp, so need to use some implements here, but honestly, am considering Bouldering Project or Crunch after my comp. The “vibes” are that unwelcoming now.
Old review:
My first time training in Iron Vault was in May of 2019. I don’t recall how I learned about the gym’s opening, but couldn’t wait to check the place out. I paid for a day pass online and went to check it out. I met James—the owner—that day, who complimented my squat depth (it’s gotten better, but dude made my day), and chatted a little about the gym. Instantly knew he was a capital fellow and I thought to myself, “I really hope this place makes it.” Unfortunately, I wasn’t in a place to join then as I was still a member of the Voldemort of Globo Gyms (hence, it shall not be named…except to say the gym name rhymes with Molds).
Well, I’m a member now, and in those 5 years James has built a lifter’s paradise. Rogue Ohio Power Bars, a 28.5 Texas Power Bar, a gazillion multipurpose bars, Texas Deadlift Bar, Rogue Deadlift bar, Texas Squat Bar, chalk, ammonia, a log, wagon wheels, an Eleiko Combo Rack, power racks, half racks, a Rogue Belt Squat, a reverse hyper, a Transformer bar, an Elite FTS SSB, calibrated plates…phew. I know I’ve forgotten something…Oh, and tampons!
You get the idea.
The best part, though? A homely fat old relatively weak lifter broad like myself is perfectly comfortable here. I’m something of a lone wolf when it comes to my training. But I love to put in some work, get jiggy with it between my sets, talk to myself, and grind. FeV members and staff have been happy to let me do my thang, and you can’t ask for much more than that.
Austin is pretty fortunate in terms of quality gym choices, but you can’t get much better than Iron Vault for the price, equipment, oh, there’s also AC. cue hallelujah singing
Go get in a lift, support a quality, local gym, you...

Since the beginning of 2021 I have been going to that incredible gym, and I can say that it is the best gym I have been to in my entire life.
I can train comfortably and effectively because the gym has a lot of quality equipment and a great environment.
And many of my clients who have been training there for 1 - 2 years, when they first visited FevGym for the first time, have been fascinated with everything they saw in the gym and signed up for a membership without thinking twice.
Since in the gym you can see:
-Equipment 💯 Cleaning and organization 💯 Customer service 💯 (Jose, Tristan, Zach and Dorian are always very attentive, friendly and willing to help) - Environment of 💯 Location of 💯 It's 24 hours Friendly competitions A very friendly community
In addition to the fact that the owner of the gym is a very cool and unique person, he appears in the gym as one more gym member, talks and laughs with the members, workout there, support you, and well, he is just great person because despite owning the gym he is very easy going and humble.
If you are looking for a gym to workout. FEV GYM recommended x 10000

Read moreI've lived in Austin since 2006 and gone to a LOT of gyms around town. I always loved gyms that focused on weight lifting over cardio or just had tons of random machines everywhere. I found this place during covid and am so happy I did. They have tons of squat racks, bars and all the free weights and plates you would need. All of the employees here are awesome. Very friendly. Always willing to help or give advice. Everyone that works out here is very friendly and helpful as well. Even during rush hour gym traffic you can always find a squat rack or deadlifting platform open. This is hands down the best gym in Austin. It's meant for people that take weight lifting serious. I've never seen anyone have a problem at this gym. It's always clean. Always open if you are a member, and always a very comfortable atmosphere. This gym was a huge help in me losing 30lbs and I can't thank everyone that works or goes here enough. I'm leaving Austin and wish I could take this place with me. If you are looking for a serious weight lifting gym, this is the place for you. Great staff, great weights, great price. They will treat you right and you won't be disappointed you became a member.
