Taco Cabana — Restaurant in Austin

Just got new and ran into the only girl who made sure the front was clean and customers were satisfied , she got fired due to protecting herself while trying to deal with a homeless man who allegedly had a weapon, which a white young man brought it to her attention,

Taco cabana only deals with mexicans it's obvious, the night lady curses so bad, every time I go in she saying racial slurs. How does a company fire a girl who's making a difference and keep the most unprofessional person who's a manager but treats the job and employees like a play ground.

I'm very disappointed because supposedly the higher ups know that the denise manager curses and makes racial slurs but does nothing? I tipped the nice young lady because of service and consistent professionalism so to not see her there smiling welcoming customers, cleaning is not good.

Do not eat at taco cabana, they do not protect these employees, and as you can see, it's Hispanics they protect because they still work there.

To that young lady who was targeted for her color and had been threatened by customers and had to call the police before, always protect yourself, no matter what, this business failed you while you had the best service I'd seen in a long time, you protected who ever was in sight while trying to keep customers coming back to I'm sure bad business. Racism is real,

Be aware, the night manager is racist, when I go to order, it's circus show. Stay away from this place, the homeless community is putting employees at risk.

Also , I do like the male manager but I have heard him threaten someone who threatened him as well. As well as stories they talk about in the kitchen.. so that's unexplainable there, why she was let go.. color maybe?

I'm sorry to the lady who lost her job, it was pure racism lead and not based off results. I will no longer eat here.

Shame on taco cabana for seeing these employees struggle with people who threaten them and do nothing. Per the male manager, taco cabana has been aware of the threats way before that young lady was fired.

Stay away from this place, please record the night manager for proof if you hear her cursing and saying...

This experience was so bad I opened a Google+ account JUST to leave this review. Everyone at this location should be fired IMMEDIATELY. (1st experience at this location) Went there 3 weeks ago, Waited 5 minutes to have my order taken inside. A ridiculous 30 minutes later i got my food. Cheese enchiladas...Somehow they were both cold and over cooked to the point they were CRUNCHY! Couldn't even eat them they were so hard. (2nd MUCH WORSE experience) I was in a time crunch so i went somewhere fast... Same lazy idiots were working again. I just figured maybe they were having a bad day the first time...But I was wrong. They were much more concerned about practicing their horrible rapping in the back than actually doing what they are being paid for. Same thing...took 5 minutes for someone to even come to the register...I was the only person inside. Waited 35 minutes. Food was never prepared. Pist off as hell since I am late to where I needed to be, I went up to the front to get my money back. Waited another 8 minutes JUST for someone to come to the counter. When I told them my food had never been made, they yelled at me saying it was being made. I said I couldn't wait and I didn't even have time to eat my food at this point. NOW this is where I get REALLY PIST! When i was given my change back, Which I placed on a debit card, she gave me cash and then shorted me a dollar. Just be glad to be out of the damn place I didn't care. But today I look at my transactions and the employee RECHARGED my card 5 minutes AFTER I left!!!!!! So she wouldn't have to comp it on her account. Unbelievable. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS LOCATION! ..OH and last by not LEAST, While bored out of my damn mind waiting for my food last time, I found out that there are roaches infesting inside the paper towel holder in the salsa island!!! Enjoyed...

UPDATE! This place still is awful from the last time I was there. I did contact the health department - based on the reviews, nothing has changed.

PREVIOUS REVIEW (2022) I wasn’t going to write a review as I already contacted their management for the multiple items missing.

This all began because they didn’t ask if I wanted corn or flour tacos. I was waving them down to not make them and they came to me after they were made. I didn’t ask for a remake, but I was clearly irritated. My plan was to give the tacos to the homeless people in the parking lot and order new ones at a different Taco Cabana.

To my surprise they remade the tacos! I was happy they did this. When I checked my ordered, we were missing dipping sauce for the sopapillas and an entire order Of chips and questo.

The reason I’m writing this and giving a 1 star is that someone took a bite out of my corn tortilla on the steak taco. WHO THE HELL DOES THIS?? In non-CoVid times that’s not cool, but WOW. Whoever you are (you know who you are), please do not be so childish and dangerous with peoples food. I’ll be contacting the health the department. I’m not pissed enough to contact the police.
