Radio Coffee and Beer is my church, my office, and my unofficial merch table. Whether you’re here to caffeinate your soul or nurse a craft beer while silently judging someone’s chord progressions, this spot is peak Austin. Honestly, the espresso here hits harder than the rejection email from SXSW.
I’ll admit it: every flat white I drink here feels like a $5 investment in my eventual NPR Tiny Desk Concert. You don’t just sip coffee at Radio; you strategize your brand. Whether you’re sketching out a new album cover or just trying to look mysterious until someone asks about your mixtape, this is the place to do it. And if nobody asks? At least the Americano is more reliable than your drummer showing up to practice (Seriously, Chad, call me back.)
The setup here is unbeatable. There’s parking in the front and back, which is necessary because it gets busy. The massive front yard, dotted with tables, is perfect for people-watching—or eavesdropping on some Gen Z founder's micro-saas platform for goat sharing. Inside, it’s climate-controlled comfort, but outside? They’ve got misters for the summer heat and heaters for those moody fall nights when you’re “definitely not thinking about your ex.”
The food options are just as solid as the coffee. Briscuits (that’s Biscuits + Brisket, for the uninitiated) serves up the kind of eats that make you want to write a song about smoked strawberry jam. Their namesake biscuits are not to be missed. And Veracruz? Their breakfast tacos are pure inspiration. The salsa verde is not for the faint of heart, but hey, neither was my last music project "Corpsepaint da Vinci".
It’s a place that truly feels inclusively Texas. You’ll see plain clothes law enforcement open carrying next to crusty street punks counting busking change for a black coffee. My jiu-jitsu gym even had our holiday party here—it’s that versatile.
Radio Coffee and Beer isn’t just a coffee shop; it’s a hub, a stage, and maybe even your next album cover. I don’t know what “single origin” means, but I’m pretty sure it’s also the name of my next album. Until then, I’ll keep coming for the coffee, staying for the food trucks, and lingering awkwardly until someone asks me...

This coffee shop and bar offers a little bit of everything for everyone, making it the perfect destination for your next caffeine fix or social gathering.
I usually grab a latte at Radio Coffee & Beer, but their coffee beans are also worth mentioning. The beans are perfect for taking home and brewing your own cup of Joe. The venue itself boasts a covered and uncovered patio area, as well as interior seating, providing plenty of space to relax with your favorite beverage.
The drink menu at Radio Coffee & Beer offers a diverse selection of caffeinated, alcoholic, and traditional options to cater to a wide range of preferences. The large outdoor seating area is well spread out, and the real highlight is the presence of some very good food trucks in the patio area, offering a delightful array of meal options to enjoy alongside your drink of choice.
There are a couple of hidden gems at Radio Coffee & Beer that you won't find on the menu or mentioned on their website. When you purchase a bag of beans here, you get a free cup of coffee, which is an excellent deal for coffee lovers. And if you've already bought a coffee and find yourself craving a refill, you can get a drip coffee for just a dollar.
In conclusion, Radio Coffee & Beer is a fantastic spot to enjoy a delicious drink and a tasty meal in a laid-back atmosphere. With its diverse offerings and cozy setting, this Austin gem is the perfect place for a morning pick-me-up or a fun evening out...
Read moreI was very excited try Radio's new location after going to Radio/East so many times. And I'm happy to say that this location somehow manages to one-up nearly everything that already made the other location so fantastic!
For the general coffee shop vibes, it is absolutely unmatched. Weekday mornings getting some work done here was super chill. The lighting, the decorations, and the decor all come together to make the inside super cozy. Just like their other location, they have some really interesting drink combinations too. One drink that really took me surprise was their Vietnamese iced coffee; which was made with condensed OAT milk! I'll be honest, I usually find the drinks always being a bit watered-down but you should still give them a try!
Not only the inside seating fantastic, but the outdoor seating is awesome too. There's an assortment of food trucks around too (including the famous Briscuits food truck!) if you're hungry.
While they have a very large space, I found that even on a weekday morning they were absolutely packed with people. I would suggest getting there early if you can. Come to get some work done or bring some friends, either way you'll be...
