If you don't need whatever it is you're ordering right away, and if you don't necessarily need any communication about your order whatsoever, and also, if you don't care about whether the funds you're spending on that item are actually taken from your account so that you don't have to watch your spending very carefully so as not to over spend and end up not having the amount needed for that purchase, then go ahead and place your order!
But if you care about any of the things I just listed, source your product elsewhere.
Ordered a $2k laptop on 8/5. Confirmation received with order number. Funds subtracted from my checking account.
On Sunday, 8/12, my checking acct suddenly had $2k more than it did that morning. The first call was to my bank, because surely someone over there had made a big mistake. When I figured out it was the computer, I had a mild panic attack thinking that my order had been canceled. I start shopping frantically for an alternative.
Monday morning, I call in and was told, no, my order is not canceled, it's just that the hold on my funds was released. WHY??? Now I have to watch every penny in order to be sure the order amount is in there for when it does ship. Whenever that is...
Now I'm told today that the computer is shipping on Friday, the 18th, but no idea what shipping method or even a tracking number. So something that I ordered 2 weeks ago is finally shipping the Friday before classes start. Will we even get it by Monday? I DON'T KNOW!
Absolutely ridiculous way to do business. The least they could do is communicate their fulfillment times. Never again.
Edited to add: The manager's response said that I received an email, but that's not the case. So here's my response to the email that never came:
Here's the thing. I've worked in technology channel sales for 25 years. In fact, I used to work for the company that JourneyEd acquired in 2000. I don't know if your fulfillment process is a by-product of contracting with JourneyEd for use of their portal and order fulfillment or if it's the campus store's process. Either way, it's poorly designed and leads to a bad customer experience.
I had to contact my friend who still works for JourneyEd in order to even know when it was scheduled to ship. Every bit if information about my order I had to seek out myself - either by reaching out to my friend or by calling the store. THAT is ridiculous.
A $2,000 laptop was shipped w/out any communication. It was supposed to have been delivered signature-only, but Fed Ex just left it on my doorstep. What if I hadn't been home?
The answer should not be "that's our process." Because your process sucks and you...
Read moreEach time I’ve had to come here I’ve had bad experiences and it genuinely just gets worse each time. The individuals who work there usually are NO help what so ever. When I first ordered my computer here I had the worst experiences just trying to pick it up and each time I spoke with someone, it was some random kid who you could tell didn’t know what they were doing. A few months later after having my computer I go today to ask if they could help me fix my computer. One of the first questions I get is, “Is it charged?”. I received no help what so ever and was only told they could not help me. Honestly that place is hiring some of the most rude and incompetent people ever. Not only was I unable to get my computer fixed, but had no help what so ever. The only thing you’ll ever get from coming here are some rude 20 year olds who don’t actually know what they are doing, and lack basic communication skills. I try to be a patient person, but after several visits of the same experience something has to be said with the individuals they are paying to do quite literally nothing. Please do not go here, if you must then try speaking to an older individual. The older workers actually give help and know what they are doing. Overall, just disappointed with the customer experience and honestly unbelievable that some of these people are getting paid to not actually do their job other than being rude, ignorant, and providing no help. Please do not waste your time, money, or breath on...
Read moreI took my computer in and it ended up needing a new hard drive and heat sync. They said they had to order a part and didn't give me an update for over two weeks, which in this day and age seemed like a long time for a relatively standard part to come in, but maybe they just have a slow distributor. Wouldn't have been as big of a problem if it wasn't finals week, but you can't control when your computer breaks. The repairs went relatively okay, but my computer came back with a couple deep scratches on the cover. I take very good care of my computer, so the scratches really bother me and I can't fathom why a repair store (who deals with other people's computers all the time) would let not one, but two deep scratches in different places to happen to my computer and then HIDE them under the box that was rubber banded over my computer at pick up. I am very disappointed and will be telling everyone I know...
