GG Hobby Card — Attraction in Aventura

I started coming to this shop about three months ago, and I honestly don’t understand the few negative reviews out there. In my experience, some people just don’t have patience for small businesses and expect big-box treatment without appreciating the heart behind it. If that’s your vibe, maybe stick to Amazon.

I work in customer relations, so I don’t say this lightly Jorge and Felix are the real deal. They greet you with open arms, and you can immediately tell they bring decades of knowledge and experience to what they do. Every interaction I’ve had with them has been genuine, respectful, and helpful.

The shop itself is spotless, well-organized, and their pricing is more than fair. It’s clear they’re not here to make a quick buck they’re building something meaningful, and it shows. That kind of consistency and care is exactly why they’ve become a fixture in Aventura over the years.

One of the highlights for me was a long conversation I had with jorge, completely unrelated to business. We talked about the history of Aventura, and hearing his stories gave me a deeper appreciation for the area and for him as a person. This man has lived, endured, and contributed so much to the community.

Saw these guys in Tampa at the card show. Just getting back into collecting so not upto date on pricing. It a bit confusing with all the different boxes on the market. This was one of the first tables we stopped at and the guy was telling us that 2020-21 select basketball retail box with 8 packs was 225 a box but he would give it to us for 200. So thinking I was getting a deal I purchased one box. Found out I paid 110dlrs more then other sellers had them for. I even told the other dealers about this and they couldn't believe someone would take advantage of someone like this. So if your purchasing anything from this company, get your phone out and check eBay pricing or your going to get ripped off. I even walked back to their stand and told them about this and the guy acted like he couldn't believe someone had the same product for 110dlrs cheaper. He asked me how many boxes did they have left, as of he was gonna go buy them all. If your selling this company something or buying something please do your homework. Hope I save some others from being taking advantage of. I had 8k with me to buy at this show but after this experience I had a sour feeling so I only spent 300dlrs at the show. My first time going to this store, I was a little taken back by how awful the customer service was. There was 2 other customers, and I was listening in to the conversation with the sales associate while browsing. He was very passive aggressive and not enthusiastic about attending to the customer various questions. He just did not seem like he wanted to be there. Anyways, he never asked if I needed help and when he was done with that customer he ignored my presence. You can't have overpriced cards and bad service and expect my business so I quietly walked out. I walked in to give them another chance weeks later, and this time I was the only one in the store. Same guy working there. I kid you know he didn't say a single word to me. No good afternoon. How can I help you. What are you in the market for. Just awkward creepy silence. Was prepared to spend some serious dough but this guy forced my hand again and I walked out. If I was the owner of this store, I would consider having a conversation with this associate about being more welcoming to potential buyers. There's no doubt they are losing money because of this atmosphere. I drove over to another card shop not that far and it was a totally different experience. Wonderful...
