Menards — Attraction in Batavia Township

We found the tension rods we needed - right color and length. Great. Thanks Menards. This is my third visit to a Menard's. We find the item we need and head for the checkout except, I don't know how to get to the checkout. So what do I do? I head in the same direction I enter... through the turnstyle. If you know anything about Menard's, Customer Service is just at the turnstyle. Here I am attempting to exit the enter turnstyle. There were people in line at Customer Service and two Customer Service reps and all eyes were on me trying to get through these turnstyle. Not one person said a thing to me. They just watched. Thank goodness AFV hidden camera were not present. Once I was through and walked over to the checkout cashiers, I realized the error if my ways. We had a really bad experience at an ACE Hardware in Geneva. My husband and I need to have a can of Benjamin Moore (a paint sold at ACE) re-shook, as we did not get our painting project started as soon as we had anticipated. We decided that our local ACE would accommodate our request to shake our gallon of paint. As my husband approached the “paint counter”, the elderly man started shaking his head “NO”….can’t be done. We then decided to go to Menards and request for them to re-shake our paint. Without hesitation, they were happy to make that happen for us. The gentleman at Menards also made sure that the color matched our original color choice. More than expected, level of service! I live about 350 miles away, my local Menards store was out of a specific Marine Grade carpet. They looked up every Menards in the country to find some for me, gave me the store names and numbers. I called the Batavia Menards and talked to Stephen in floor coverings. He knew exactly what I was talking about and exactly how much he had on hand without even looking it up. He asked how much I needed and said, I've got more than that, but I'll just send you the extra for no extra cost, I just pay for the shipping. He looked up the total cost and called me back.
