I shop here a lot, so it’s really a shame that I and another Nordstrom employee weren’t treated very well by two men working in the men’s fragrance/accessory area tonight. I came in on Friday, October 3rd around 7:30pm to see if the beauty department had the Sauvage Aftershave Balm. Brittany in fragrance saw she had a tester on the Dior shelf, but could not find it in the drawers. I, along with another beauty worker, went to the men’s fragrance/accessory section and asked the two men if they had it, at Brittany’s recommendation while she continued looking. One man immediately in a rude and annoyed tone said “I don’t know, probably not” but didn’t bother to look anywhere or offer any assistance. I still thanked them and I went back to Brittany, and then she checked the computer and saw they had one in stock. She really went above and beyond, went to the back to find it but to no avail. Brittany decided to check one more time with the two men, and they snapped at her and were very rude. One of them said “I already told that customer we don’t have it, why are you asking me again?” I was stunned that he would talk like that to his coworker, and around customers! Brittany explained she was just trying to find the product for the customer, but the men kept complaining and talking down to her. I could tell it really upset Brittany, I was really sad for her. I was upset and confused because the men talked badly about me, too! Those men came across as very aggressive and condescending, and they probably shouldn’t be working a customer facing position or in a team environment if they’re so bitter about doing their jobs. Brittany apologized for not finding the product and made me a sample instead, which was fine with me. She was wonderful and definitely didn’t deserve to be...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars for my experience at Nordstrom, I totally would. Earlier today, I went to Nordstrom for the purpose of redeeming a $50 gift card that I had received recently. I found several shirts that I wanted to redeem the gift card on and proceeded onto the register. I told the cashier that I wanted to redeem a gift card and pay the remaining balance with my card.
During the course of the employee attempting to input my gift card into the point of sales system, she contemptuously asked me multiple times if I had already used the gift card, to which I answered that I did not and that the gift card was a gift received just a few days ago. After 3 attempts at inputting the gift card and after essentially being accused of trying to use a depleted gift card, my frustration and impatience at the whole experience gave in and I asked the employee to give me my gift card back.
Needless to say, I utilized my wits to go to the gift card balance link on the Nordstrom website and voila! The link reflected that I indeed had a valid gift card with a $50 balance remaining on it.
Instead of asking me multiple times if I already used the gift card, why not just verify the balance through the website? It’s simple as that. Or, why not take the effort to address the point of sales issue with the manager? I also was not greeted by any employees during my duration on the sales floor nor was I asked if I wanted any assistance. Is it because I wasn’t dressed in formal wear to begin with? Is it because my outfit that I wore during my shopping experience didn’t look like it was worth $2,000?
Bottom line is, Nordstrom needs to train their employees in human decency, in how to approach any point of sales gift card issues with courteousy and just being...
Read moreI would probably never shop here again to the aggressive nature of "customer service " shown to myself and my significant other by Grant and Brian of the men's department. I went to fitting room to try on clothing and upon exiting I saw Brian non-verbally communicate with Grant as if there was an issue. Brian proceeded to block my walking path to ask if I needed help, I told him no. Grant then proceeded to literally run behind is and ask us if we needed help, but the manner in which he asked was not as if he wanted to help. He asked as if there was a threat to Brian. Grant then proceeded to take clothes out of my girlfriend's hands, asking if he could put them away, we explained that we were going to purchase those items. He then gave us the clothes back, by then I realized that I would not like to purchase anything from that store. Neither of the gentleman asked if I wanted to purchase, they automatically assumed that I would return the clothing to the rack, which causes me to believe they never had intentions of assisting me. There only intentions were to get the items out of my hands! This prompts me to believe that my blackness dies have an effect on the service they provided to me. They were not as attentive to any other customer in the store as much attention that was given to me. I felt targeted since I left the fitting room, and it was demeaning that I walked in that store with pure intentions on buying clothes, and to be treated like that is completely unacceptable...
