Maintaining our yard - with recently cut down trees, plumbing excavation wreckage, walnut shells, weeds, wild onions, ivy, leaves and just about everything that could possibly frustrate someone with limited time to dedicate to a yard - has been an incredible pain point in our home.

I reached out to Fred to see if our yard was even salvageable at that point and was amazed off the bat with his estimate process. Fred was realistic in terms of the expectations he set (which were then exceeded,) and was honest about what work was really going to make a visual impact. He respected the vision of what I had (miserably) attempted to “DIY” over the last few years and only added to my ideas for the yard.

Anyone that has ever done any small amount of landscaping work knows it is back-breaking and exhausting - Fred’s team worked for THREE DAYS hauling my previous attempts at rock beds away, grading the huge mounds left from our plumbing excavation, cleaning the area and re-establishing the rock beds. They were respectful of our space and even seeded the lawn to repair the small space where their equipment drove.

Fred emailed me at the end of each day with updates and a summary of the work remaining and was quick (like, within the hour) to respond to any questions I had.

Our yard finally is a compliment to our beautiful home, not an eye sore. Solid Ground Solutions exceeded our expectations in terms of price fairness, estimate process, scheduling updates, daily updates while doing the work, responsiveness and, of course, final results.

Very happy with Fred and his crew with Solid Ground Solutions. My 20 year old house had drainage issues with the runoff from the roof. Several of the prior lengths of conduit had collapsed and they were no longer draining correctly. SGS returned my call promptly and set a date to come and look at the house. They arrived on time and were professional when talking with me and discussing how they thought to best address the drainage. They recommended hard piping out to the fence with a pop off (this is what I had wanted and was happy to see they were thinking the same way). Quote was to me quickly (less than 24 hours) and frankly less than I was expecting to pay. Date of service was only a couple of weeks out. Day of install they arrived on time. Quickly took care of business and documented the entire thing in pictures as I was at work. They nicked an unmarked irrigation line and repaired it that same day. Replaced all of the dirt and put down some grass seed on the top along with the grass that was removed. Cleaned up their entire mess and were out on time. Already have them scheduled to come out and fix a separate drainage issue from a poorly installed French drain on a different part of the property.

I simply cannot say enough wonderful words about Fred and his crew! I originally contacted them about a possible drainage system being installed because I have a lot of standing water. Fred came out to assess the yard, and rather than suggesting a huge, expensive, and daunting task, he recommended river rock be placed along the drainage areas to reduce the water and mud. He also buried my downspouts and has them now draining in spots to avoid standing water.

While at the house, I mentioned wanting to replace my fence. He took a look at it and told me it’s structurally sound, but could use a few boards being replaced…which he did for me! He also suggested seed slicing to help build a thicker yard.

After seeing his work and loving it so much, I asked him to return and add river rock to the other side of the yard. That led to him helping me design a way to eliminate a huge muddy area around a tree that has exposed roots. And that led me to having him refresh all my mulch areas with new weed blocker and mulch!

Fred was incredibly patient as I passed more and more ideas his way.
