Game World — Attraction in Bloomington

I went and checked out this place for the first time today and I was pretty impressed. The locally owned business is small right now, but has some room for a lot of potential. Personally, I'm tired of getting lackluster trade-ins for my games at GameStop. Game World at least is willing to give you a decent trade-in for your games. After inquiring about a couple quotes for some action games, I was pleasantly surprised. They were much higher than I was expecting. Like GameStop, they give you more trade-in value if you take store credit over cash. Almost all their games for sale are used games (at least right now), which isn't a bad thing here. Their used games come with a 14-day guarantee, which is twice as long as the competition. The guarantee though only covers defective games though, so you can't bring the game back if you don't like it. However with a credit card on file, you can rent the game before you buy it with the credit of rental fees going towards the purchase of the game if you choose to buy it! Rentals are $3.99/2 Days for New Releases and $1.99/2 Days for everything else with no late fees (auto-re-rent per day). They also offer Lay-away options (which I can tell will get me in trouble) with 25% down and 25% monthly payments. The only downside is that the prices of the games are nothing to write home about. The variety of games are also a bit limited. They are comparable with GameStop's prices, but I feel their options of rent-to-own, lay-away and better trade-ins more than make up for this. So let me say that I originally gave this place a 5 star review, but after a few more encounters I realized this place is mostly trash! Our 1st time was buying a ps4, at the time the guy working seemed very knowledgeable and I thought they were giving us a good deal. Less than 5 months later, our ps4 quit working. We tried to have them fix it and they wouldn't, didn't even offer any kind of deal for us. The 2nd time we went there because we were in the area and looking for some new games. The young girl working had no idea about anything in the store and I literally had to check my self out at the register because she had no idea what she was doing. After getting our games home(35 miles away) the $50 game we bought was so scratched up it wouldn't play. So we drove BACK to the store to get a different copy of the game. They didn't even show any interest in making things right. They did give us a different copy that worked but there was no help given at all and the disc we got is still scratched pretty badly. After this last experience we will not be going back. This store is a joke and I honestly think that they know the junk they are selling at the crazy prices they ask for items in the store. So buyer beware because this place does not have the customer in mind when selling...

I always have a great experience at this store no matter if I'm shopping or just looking around Spencer and the rest of the crew are just really great people and employees that make you feel welcome as a guest and as a customer thay treat you like a friend and the game world store itself the way it's laid out literally reminds of a really place happy time from my childhood of a similar establishment that had the same look but went by a different name when I lived in Bradenton Florida called electronic gaming and this place game world definitely takes me back to that wonderful time of my life it's like stepping in the past and going back in time during one of the most happiest moments of my life.
