We were greeted as we walked in right about 7:15. They just opened, but seemed as if everything was running and ready for the day. Always a good sign. The environment is a bit dated, but it was clean and we aren't here for the interior design. Hah. The services was great. Our server was knowledgeable about menu items was very kind and everyone seemed to be alive and ready to start the day (always great for a breakfast place or place that serves breakfast) my coffee was consistently refilled and the lady waiting on our table even brought us a pot of coffee for our own -so no wait time on coffee and always hot. Very considerate of her and she was so friendly. I ordered the ($7something) French toast w/ strawberries on top (which were fresh cut-- no syrup/ red dye) whip cream on the side and my friend ordered the($12something) "lumberjack" which was eggs, hash browns and your choice off bacon or sausage with 3 pancakes (medium to large size). The syrup they brought out was heated or warm so didn't make our food cold. Love that! They also offered a good selection of juices (cranberry, apple, orange, grapefruit, grape) but not sure that any were fresh squeezed. The food only took a few minutes to come out and was warm and fresh so that was great. We also ordered a ($5) regular biscuits and gravy which is just two biscuits with a bowl of the gravy. Honestly it was good, but no one's coke close to my grandma's. Love mine with a bit more pepper. They did have a hot sauce on the table that was also sold there that had jalapenos in it and that helped spice it up. (Thumbs up) Just my personal preference. It was good portions sizes I felt. I left full and without complaints. Again the staff was very kind, Thank you.

The Belgium Waffle was very good. A bit expensive though, and didn't come with anything else (normally I want protein with a waffle. Should offer a choice of sausage or bacon at that price) Disappointed in the service though. I ordered the Belgium Waffle with an egg on the side. Our waited brought me the egg, but forgot the waffle. I thought he was going back for it, since he had to get something for another in our party, but no, he came back and still didn't have it. I asked, and he didn't really acknowledge the mistake, but brought the waffle. By then, my water was almost empty, but he didn't offer to fill it. In fact, he ignored the table until we managed to flag him down for the check at the end. Then we had to go get a box for the leftovers.

Sunday morning, mid-morning. Was fairly busy but we got seated (2 people) pretty quickly. The hostess was very pleasant and accommodating. Quickly got coffee and placed orders. Bit high priced meals, but it was an anniversary weekend, so we didn't mind a bit of a splurge as the wife wanted to try this place (heard good things). The fans and lighting are very outdated, but that could be part of the charm of this old style cooking diner. She got the Waffle, seemed like an obvious choice, ha! Couple smacks of whipped creme and some fruit (wouldn't say enough fruit for the extra cost that it is). Noticed on the menu, a SIDE (yes, side) of bacon is $5.15 currently... I know prices have gone up, but that's just a plain ol' rip off! I decided on French Toast and a (SIDE) of 2-eggs over-easy. 2 eggs is also VERY high priced and the french toast came out smaller of pieces than I expected. I finished everything without issue and was sorta hungry again in about 30 minutes. I don't mean to complain, but the prices are too high for what you get and the server was NOT very polite. When they bring you your food, she more or less just drops everything in the center of the table for you to figure out. That's not how you serve! She also didn't stop back, we had to stop her... even for extra coffee. I guess she got tired of bringing me coffee and dropped off an entire carafe. Breakfast for two runs you about $40! Here's the next worst part. My stomach didn't like something and I was in a bathroom within 20-mins. This may also be why I was hungry again shortly later, because I think everything just went straight through. Sorry, that's graphic, but people need to know. I remembered back to those over-easy eggs that were cooked too over... they were very "wet" like buttery or greasy?? My assumption is everything is made with loads of butter... so, your insides probably get nothing out of this expensive meal, the toilet get's...

Were still sitting here waiting on our check . After we wsited 40 minutes for our food...about the food...Waffle tasted more like a funnel cake. I wanted French toast, but you can only get 5 slices of bread. No half orders....some places don't understand that sometimes it's not about money..it's about not being wasteful. The tea was undrinkable. The bacon was the only good thing here. It's so cold in here that it's miserable, plus makes your food cold within minutes.... save your money. This was our first time in here and we won't be back. Go to a place that cares about their customers. I've had time to write this whole thing and our check still isn't here nor is our server in sight. Other employees are walking around...but no one cares that's we've been sitting here with our plate pushed to the end of our table for 25 minutes. ......check still hasn't came, nor been checked on🤔

Update on getting our check after 30 minutes of being finished eating with no one coming to check on us...I finally asked a girl who was just wondering around looking at tables. I said can we get a check...we've been sitting here waiting for at least 25 minutes. She looks up at our waitress who is chatting with another table, and says "check" from then the ONLY thing that pleasant young lady said to us was "sign here". No thank you, NO have a good day, NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. We paid 20 bucks for worthless food and service. I guess I paid 20 bucks to get out of doing dishes this morning....
