I just wanted to discuss an experience we had Monday night. We're in from Texas & my aunt & uncle flew in from Florida...anyway, a few years back we saw the show & loved it so it was # 1 on our list. We have an autistic son & the 1st time we came he was almost non verbal & younger...maybe 3? we put his program on his tablet & his headphones in & he did great. This time however, he's 7 & very verbal. He also has no situational awareness & no volume control but we decided to try it anyway. It didn't work, he was talking aloud & standing up, getting excited by the lights so, not wanting to disturb anyone, I left the theater...my plan was to see if I could get him seated & calm In the lobby or take him to the car. On a whim, I went to your snack bar & bought a cookie (which he likes) & was hoping for a couple minutes of calm while he ate it. I was digging my $$ out of my wallet w/one hand (holding him w/the other) & apologized to the cashier & mentioned he was autistic & not doing well w/the show. It was them that the sweet cashier says "What about the cry room?" & explained how we could see the show without disturbing anyone. I thanked her profusely & we headed over there, It was perfect for our needs! He could talk & jump up & down while I was able to enjoy the show I had paid for!!! Thank you for having a cry room! It was so greatly appreciated during our visit & without it, I would not have been able to enjoy the show which...
Read moreFirst - nothing can take away from the talent of all the performers. Many of them have been doing it for years and years, and with their success, they must know their audience and what they are doing.
But, since this is my first time seeing the show, I can't help getting the feeling that they start off hard on the accelerator and then cruise control sets in. Maybe because they do the same songs every night, it sort of just happens, but I just wasn't feeling the energy.
Now, all that said, sometimes repetition is what makes the best performers and I have to say Cecil has every line and mannerism totally nailed down and really had the audience in the palm of his hand. Kudos to his amazing performance.
So, while my wife loved every moment of the show, I get the feeling next time we come to Branson, the show would be very similar and maybe I might want to try something else. But if you have NOT seen the show, please do yourself a...
Read moreThe music was extraordinary, and the comedy was quite entertaining. I'm not recommending this show solely for the attempt at political jokes by the character Herkimer (sp?). I'm not a supporter of our current president who is ruining this country while personally enriching himself, his family, and his billionaire friends and pardoning convicted criminals because they make large contributions to him & his crypto scams or the did his bidding on January 6th, 2020. Don't slam a president who cares for all Americans and proved that by his moves to fix infrastructure, help the poor and make things better for all. DJT's vision of America is not the country I want to leave to my descendants. Your jokes were in very poor taste after highlighting gospel music. We won't be back. It's too bad because the show was...
