Between two days of being there i had issues with the same associate. When i came to drop off some cloth to sell. When i initially walked through the door she seemed like she was fairly busy and kind of cold. She instructed me on what to do on getting started with them because Iâve never sold anything here before. Once that was completed she tells me (in an assertive manner) that i will have to wait 3 hours or i can come back tomorrow morning to do the exchange/offer after i received the text. It did slightly inconvenience me being i couldnât come back till after work the next night and that would have been over 24hrs. I was then told after 24 hours the offer price was subject to change. Later on i received the text and called the store to tell them i just got back home and would like to know what the offer price was. I was told by the woman on the phone that they do not give the offer price over the phone in case someone is âacting as me and wants to come take my offer.â I told her that I didnât want to drive all the way out there to find out they were only going to offer me three dollars when I would rather just donate the clothes at that point. She said that they have to look at my ID in order to give me the offer money. So wouldnât that make you think that thereâs no problem with telling me the offer amount over the phone, I guess thatâs just too much to ask. I got a text the next day at work that said â We still have your items at Once Upon a Child Brighton. Please reply with donate if you would like us to donate your items.â I go to pick up the clothes/offer the next day after work that I drove a half hour to get. When I came in the door she asked me what my name was after I told her she looked around and looked around like she had no idea where my clothes were. She then again asked me my name and asked for my ID because she said she must have terrible hearing because she thought my name was Amanda; itâs Nicole...? The entire time she had a superior like demeanor like she assumed I was already going to be very upset. She told me the few clothing items that theyâd like to purchase, they were offering about five dollars and some change. If this is what they had told me the day before I would have told them to just go ahead and donate the clothing but at this point I had already driven 30 minutes to get there I was going to get at least five dollars out of this. So I excepted the offer. As sheâs grabbing my money I asked her to take the other clothes that they decided not to purchase and please donate them. She responds back with capital we donât donate clothes here. You can go find one of those clothing dumpsters to throw it in. I told her this was not for the clothing that she offered me money for this was clearly the clothing she didnât purchase so there was nothing else I was going to do with it and I would like her to donate it. She said because you excepted the offer we do not donate but if you had not excepted the offer we would donate it. Now how in the world does that even make sense? And of course Iâm exhausted with this conversation at this point so I let out a light sigh and she gives me a wide-eyed look and then rolls her eyes at me, how rude! Once again this entire time she has shown a superior complex attitude and has been very assertive this entire time just enough where she doesnât seem completely rude to other customers but enough where she showing me I donât care for you and I just want you out of my store. After she hands me my money and I grab the clothes I told her next time please do not roll your eyes at a customer thatâs very rude. She gives me a snarky smirk and says have a great day in the most sarcastic...
Read moreIf I could give this store zero stars I would. I have never wrote a negative review but I feel that others should know what they are walking into and possibly avoid the treatment that I had received by the employee of this place.
I had gone to this store a few times and havenât really had any problems other than the staff are never friendly. Iâd just mind my business and look for what I needed and leave. I had dropped some things off before and never really had any issues but this recent time. I had brought my clothes in to sell in a bag (which I had done the previous time and nothing was said, not even a warning) the women accepted my clothes and gave me money. Yes, I should have checked the site upon going in. That I will say was my fault. I go in with my big Marshallâs bag of clothes neatly folded inside and the women turns me away immediately. She had let me know that they do not accept bags and had said only box or bin, and walked away from me before I can even respond. I left and found a smaller box in the back of my car and just put what I could fit in it and walked back inside. Well Iâm assuming that women didnât think Iâd be coming back immediately and was helping the women in front of me. She literally had 3 big BAGS of clothes and told her that the next time they wouldnât be accepting clothes in bags but took them anyways. When it was my turn to be helped again she wouldnât even look at me. I couldnât believe it and I chose not to say anything in that moment because of how upset it made me. I dropped my stuff off even though I should have just grabbed it and left. Needless to say I will never be returning to this store nor based upon reviews of the other Once upon a stores that seem to be all the same. I hope the owner sees this and is willing to have a meeting with staff and hopefully make the next buyer/sellers experience better...
Read moreThis was the first time I had brought things in to sell and will not waste my time again. The entire experience was horrible. The staff members were extremely rude, I didnât know what I was doing but I followed all their instructions online. The lady at the counter for drop off was so rude in the way she told me to put my things on the counter (felt like I was going through TSA) just very unfriendly and rushing. The lady acted like I should know what to do and nobody explained the process to me at all. I was left in the dark as to what to expect. I dropped a couple of totes along with a few other items, freshly laundered, ironed and packaged neatly in the bins. I had to ask how long it was going to take and how I would know when they were done. I was told it was going to take a couple hours which was what I was expecting. I stuck around the area while they went through everything since I lived 45 minutes away. I receive the text a couple hours later that my stuff was complete and ready for pickup and I went back right away. When I got there they had only made it through one of my totes and totally forgot to go through my larger tote. They said they would have to check me back in line but now there were more people in front of me so it would take a couple more hours. They were not apologetic for their mistake at all. I had no problem waiting around for them to go through it quickly but when they said I would have to go to the end of the line and it would take a couple more hours I was no longer interested. It was really their loss because I had a bunch of brand new Columbia, Nike, under armor, north face, adidas and Matilda Jane clothing in the tote, probably close to 50-75 piece either had the tags still on or worn once or twice. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere in the future and hope nobody else waste their entire...
