This was my first visit to Velva Darnell. On March 27, 2016 I came in with a relatively straightforward issue with a non-functioning Bluetooth on my laptop. The biggest concern was time. I was due to fly out of town in two days so I needed the work done that day or the next. I explained my problem and Brandon said he would do his best to get to me ASAP, though he made no guarantees since he said he was "a little backed up." Not two hours later, he called and said the Bluetooth dongle I had was faulty. As I was still running errands in the car, I volunteered to pick up a new one on the way back to his shop. I did that and dropped it off with him. Not two hours later, he called to say my laptop was ready.
Now, I realize my problem wasn't major. But I so appreciated the fact that he bumped me to the front of his queue because I was flying out of town. He was friendly and professional, and I was super grateful. The bill (for service) was just over $31. Peanuts, in the grand scheme of things. I gave Brandon what I THOUGHT were two $20 bills and told him he could keep the change just for getting me fixed up so quickly. I walked to the car, set my laptop bag on the seat, and got in. Suddenly, I realized that I may have only given him ONE $20 bill instead of the two. I hurried back inside to correct my mistake, explaining to him that my mind was completely frazzled since I was about to leave town and I had been running from errand to errand all afternoon. He calmly got out of his chair and walked over to me with a new receipt totaling just $20. I had the other $20 in my hand but he wouldn't take it. He said I could get him "next time."
I work in the service industry. I know what exceptional customer service is. He could have easily taken my money because it was me who was gladly willing to part with it for having my Bluetooth fixed. But he didn't. And he got himself a new customer . . .and this...
Read moreThis company is a TOTAL RIP-OFF! I took my CD player there to be fixed. I agreed on the $30.00 fee to diagnose the problem. He called1 hr. later to say it was fixed, only a bent laser, no parts required. We picked up, along with 4 CDs that had been left in it. He had TAPED the cd's together with the right side out, no respect for my property at all. He of all people should have known better. I had to scrub the glue off the cd and it was ruined,.When I turned it on it still skipped, as before. I took it right back to him and he said he would try something else. I called one week later to check on it. He said he hadnt had time to look at it. He called me back 15 minutes later to say "it couldn't be fixed", I said "so you are going to refund the additional $45.00 you charged to fix it,,,and didn't ~ right?" He said "No, it states plainly on the receipt that we don't give refunds." I said "but you didn't work on it 10 minutes to tell me it wasnt worth fixing and couldn't be fixed. This repair was going to be my Christmas present and you are going to KEEP $75.00 of our money for NOTHING?" He hung up on me. I went to pick up the player and asked him again to refund the money for the repair..not the diagnosis fee. He ordered me to get out of his store and was the rudest, ugliest human being I've ever seen., I told him "if you treat all of your customers this way I don't know how you've stayed in business at all." He has ripped us off royally. Its' not so much the money...it's just the lack of human dignity that bothers me, When someone becomes so GREEDY for the almighty dollar that he loses respect for his fellow man...what good does it do him in the long run?. I read that his wife, for whom the shop is named, has sung music in this area for years. I wonder if she knows what kind of a business they are running there..or is she just as crooked as they are? DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH ANYTHING YOU HAVE...LET ALONE...
Read moreMy power supply failed a while back and I took my computer to Eddie. I am a Realtor and could not do without my computer. Eddie made the repair while I waited. He was so understanding. Recently I knew my computer was on its last leg and Eddie and Brandon helped me figure out the best direction for me would be to purchase a laptop. I could not be happier with the Dell computer I purchased from them. I purchased the laptop, docking station and case for less than a much inferior laptop would costs at the big box stores. They configured everything and transferred all my files and programs. I recommend them to all our friends and associates. They are completely professional and...
