I was pretty jazzed to visit Burbank and do a little check in. Was planning on getting a new scent and noticed the line as to the back of the door. I wish I had snagged the names but one girl looked incredibly stressed while holding her clipboard while I asked curious what was going on with the line (I hadn't seen my VIB email about a sale). They very unenthusiastically replied that he's there was a sale. I said that was great and asked what the same tiers were as I may have friends interested in signing up or perhaps already members plus, I thought I might buy a new fragrance. The first girl started to answer me and then the girl next to her just pointed at a sign as if I could "just read it". The only problem with that is that it was blocked from my view by the first girl. All in all disappointing as I didn't even need them to walk to help me with a product. They could have acted happy there was a sale instead of being catty and too busy to act like I wasn't inconveniencing them with two questions. The second girl who thought it was appropriate to silently point at a sign had a shirt bob, black hair. This was yesterday around 7ish PM near the front doors if anyone cares to look. I obviously didn't buy anything. I'll just go to my preferred Sephora or shop...
Read moreGetting a Sephora in the Empire Center is the best worst thing ever. Now I don't have to go park at the Americana anymore but it is so easy to get sucked in to it's tractor beam and just go in "for one thing".
The folks working here are a diverse bunch and are a lot more friendly and helpful compared to other locations. I have been in here 3 or 4 times since it opened. Even when it is busy, the lines move fast and you can always find help looking for something.
My mom had never been in a Sephora before, and when I brought her I warned her that it could be a lot to take in at first. It was overwhelming for her at first, but she loved it. She talked about the 50s-80s where you could choose from drugstore makeup or a Macy's counter with the good stuff being under the control of a gatekeeping scold. She said she wished she had more choices when she was still in the workforce.
As someone who also remembers having limited choices in the late 80s and early 90s, Sephora made makeup fun for me but the stores were always inconveniently located or staffed by snobs. Love that this location is convenient and friendly.
Chelsea helped me pick up my mobile order today and it was really busy in there! Everything was still clean, organized and moving...
Read moreI've been here at least 5 times because it's in my flight path for other errands, but I've literally never been able to a purchase here. They're either completely out of anything I came in for, the line's wrapped around to the back door, or the displays and product are so repulsively messy that you can't pick anything up that isn't covered in mystery goop. One time while I was browsing perfumes for my upcoming wedding, an associate loitered behind me the whole time, never offered to help, and just asked "what are you doing?".
My final straw was today, though. I wanted to purchase a big-ticket styling tool among other things, and needed assistance getting it from the case. After the two associates I approached informed me that they "don't help with that, we're skincare experts", I made several laps through the aisles looking for an associate to help, tried approaching them, but was ignored. I would be totally fine waiting for someone to have the time to help, but they straight up looked right past me even when I was standing within two feet of them waiting patiently.
Y'all are missing out on a lot of sales purely by being rude,...
