The store was well stocked and organized but seemed really dark. The meat section looked a little sketchy. The people working were really nice.

Seemed expensive, even accounting for the cost of shipping food up north. Wide range of liquour though.

Pat's has everything you need... but at a cost. They have a virtual monopoly in the area and as a result have taken advantage, the community is suckered into Pat's unreasonable prices but have little recourse. A trip to Wal*Mart is out of the question as the nearest location is in Houghton, many people are unwilling to drive that distance so they are forced to choose between Shopko (which only carries a limited selection of groceries) and Pat's... the second option being the most favorable. Although the cashiers and other staff are more than friendly, the management is detached and unwilling to hear complaints from their customers. Pat's meat selection is often poor, at best and is frequently overpriced with the quality being highly inconsistent. In short, if you must choose between Pat's and Shopko, Pat's is unfortunately the more favorable alternative in terms of pricing. If Pat's we're to be willing to be more competitive in their pricing, the community would be more willing...

It would seem as if this place desires you to hate it there. From the absolute despicable customer service to the disgusting sanitation practices. If you’re able to somehow get over the prices and “sales”, look no further than the meat department’s selection of god awful products to put you into “where’s the exit” mode. Completely taking advantage of the local population’s reliance on EBT cards to increase sales figures. One must question, “do they know their fellow community members can’t afford the trip to Hancock or Houghton”? The answer is a resounding YES. Just compare the “sales” to their fellow store in Hancock. They’re different. If you have the ability, take your business to a quality establishment. My suggestion you...

I have really come to loathe this store. Why does it have such high ratings? The only thing HIGH about this place are its prices!!! Everything in this store is $1-5 higher than its competitors. I will use 2 common examples. Knorr rice and frozen Tombstone pizza. Knorr rice is about $1 most everywhere else. It is regularly over $2 here!!! Frozen Tombstone pizza can be bought TWO for $5-6 (sometimes cheaper!) at other stores....it is regularly over $7 for ONE frozen Tombstone pizza here. They call these "deals", and that is offensive! If you are not rich, save your hard earned money and make a trip to Walmart in Houghton or check out the Calumet Dollar General. This place just wants to rip you off!!!! What is there to love...
