Moonstone Beach — Attraction in Cambria

How beautiful! We went before the fog rolled in this morning (Cambria can be quite foggy!) and it was stunning. There's a few trails around the overlook and down to the beach, though we didn't go all the way down since we weren't wearing the best clothes. There's some nice areas to set up for a picnic, though I didn't see any trash cans so definitely follow the "pack in, pack out" rule. Dogs are not permitted, so leave your furry friends at home! A tourist pulled up beside us as we were headed down the stairs to the beach. He was looking for "the beach all covered with rocks." We told him this was it but he drove off looking very disappointed. Keep in mind that the beach was hit hard this winter season. If you are looking for moonstones, look for areas of collapsing sand. Tons of rocks are buried. I found a couple of thumb-size ones that I gave away to tourists...

Was a nice foggy cool breezy day. The beaches were nice, not too busy and the pebble rocks on the beach were beautiful. Plenty of trails and the California coastline definitely does not upset.
