Employees at Gator Mike's were unprofessional and inconsiderate. Jake in particular was unnecessarily rude. We went to enjoy a game of mini golf with our grandkids. We were told to go outside to pay at the little shack. We did and she gave us our gear. We we to the 1st hole and the attendant called us in due to a storm. She said we could wait it out or get our money back. We left, ate and then came back . The storm hadn't started, but there was some lightening (far) off. We went to get our money back at the outside shack and she said to go in and talk Jake. Upon entering my daughter was already inside speaking to Kyla. Kyla, which just kept repeating the same inconsiderate and non-helpful statement "We don't refund for weather." had zero personal skills and apparently no concept of how to treat a patron. I tried to explain we were from our of state and we just paid nearly $100 and asked if they would make an exception. Again she robotically stated the same phrase. I then stated we were told to talk to Jake according to the girl outside. Jake who was standing there with 2 other teenagers (which coincidentally had no reason to be there, other than to stare and smile) unnecessarily, rudely and mockingly said "Hey, I'm Jake how you doing." with a smirk and walked off. He didn't even stick around for me to say I was told to talk to you. He officially made the whole scenario more ridiculous and unprofessional. As if a group of teenagers standing around staring and smiling isn't inappropriate enough. I love coming to Florida and people here are usually very friendly and helpful. BUT this interaction at this establishment was awkward and it felt like the twightzone. So basically we spent $80 for a group of kids to be disrespectful and think it was amusing. I asked for Kyla to give me her managers name and time he'd be in. She gave a name but said he's in and out and I'd just have to keep trying. They did give a card to use but THE POINT IS I'M FROM OUT OF STATE AND I AM LEAVING IN THE MORNING SO I CAN'T USE IT!! THATS WHAT WE WERE TRYING TO SAY!! So I give this establishment a one star review because we did get get an icee which was good and the best part of the whole experience. EVERYTHING ELSE WAS A BIG ZERO!!! PS I left my name and number for Chris the Manager to call me. Instead I get a generic message to call them and explain. Chris should call me. How about doing the right thing? That would be nice. I should have been given a refund. That's the right thing. I'm not from Florida, I didn't get to hit one ball, there was never a storm or even rain, I was treated rudely and basically my money was stolen by this establishment....
Read moreI am generally pretty generous on these reviews. In fact this may be my first 1 star review. If there was a way to do a no-star review I would.
We showed up on a Tuesday at 1pm. We asked to do axe throwing. Both their website and their menu board said walk-ups we're welcome. They said they're only doing reservations. So I went on my phone to make a reservation. It wouldn't even allow me to select today or the next two. They looked at their computer said they're all booked. I thought fair enough. However, we ended up being here for several hours. Only one of the two axe throwing lanes was being used when we arrived. Both lanes were open by 130 and remained open until we left. I felt like I was outright lied to so the employee wouldn't have to attend to us while we did the ax throwing.
So, no axe throwing. The other reason we came was for the zip line and ropes course. Unfortunately, those are only open Wednesday to Sunday. This info is not on the website. It's not on their menu board and it's not even posted anywhere on the property. What about paintball. Also closed.
We ended up getting the 10 rounds of gocart and 4 rounds of Virtual Reality. Gocarts was about the only thing that went okay. Except, we were planning on being inside throwing axes and no one brought sunscreen. So we were all sunburned. But, that's on us.
The virtual reality experience left a bit to be desired. I have a virtual reality system at home. My living room experience was far superior to what they had to offer. Only two of the four virtual reality systems were working. One of those was out of calibration making your character really tall and unable to fit in small spaces within the game. And the headset had a huge crack on it allowing in light and breaking the immersion. The other one had controllers that were not properly calibrated and neither of them had working sound. So you're basically playing the game in silence which is a real immersion breaker.
Even buying three soda pops from their snack counter ended up being a problem. We got one pop at the back counter. Then we had to follow the employee up to the front counter to get another the other two. Only to find that they only had one up there. So we had to follow the employee all the way back to the refrigerator in the rear to pick another pop that they did have in stock.
This was not a good experience. The place seems very unorganized. One employee could never answer a question and always had to go get the other one. Nothing seemed to work like it was supposed to. There was no communication as to what was available to do. I would not recommend going to Gator Mike's...
Read moreShould definitely be 0 stars or even the ability to take stars away from other posts. We went yesterday for our first time. We did not know such a place existed and were so excited about all it had to offer. Well excitement didn't last long after we arrived.
First of all, the main building is extremely hot, almost unbearable. We had a reservation for 12:30 at the escape room. Waited over 20 minutes but no one ever came. I finally hunted someone down and they said I was supposed to go inside and tell someone. Now why do I have to go wait in a 20 minute line again to tell someone that when I have a reservation? Next, he said we get three hints and they would check on us every 10 minutes or so. We received one hint and one check-in, after which the guy disappeared. I still heard the alarm going off in the trailer 3 hours after our session ended as it completely forgotten about. An extreme waste of money!!
Another issue is the park is completely understaffed. I waited two different times at the bungee jump area for over thirty minutes. I did as posted and let the paint ball attendant know I was interested. The second time, there was a longer line now so I called up to the front building and they finally sent someone out. I had been waiting 30 minutes for no one. Not to mention, I had to wait at the paintball station because no one was there either. Every post I went to was abandoned. Then paintball was shut down due to high winds, which continued the whole time I was there yet at some point it did open back up and one lady had been waiting more than hour to get in. I went to do the zip lining and rock climbing which also did not go well as I was told that I was supposed to have my name on a wait list when I purchased the ticket. Well that was never done so now I was stuck waiting about an hour for that. The only thing that went as planned was the mini golf so I basically paid 270 dollars to play mini golf.
I still have stuff left on my play card as I was unable to do most of what I paid for because after the second incident with the bungee, my kids and I were completely fed up and decided to just leave. I have never been to such a horribly organized place in my life and don't even know if I will be returning to use the unused credits as it is just not worth it! All these people looking for jobs and you have the same few people running everywhere? Some of which look like that is the last place they want to be!! For what I paid, I could have just...
