Read moreI've visited multiple times. Very clean and organized library. The librarians here seem overly engaged with each other and not the customers, which is fine because I know how to find my book, and I rarely seek assistance unless there are issues. The knowledge level of technology and library software was poor. The staff who assisted me seemed clueless. I approached her to inform her that the self check out kiosk wasn't working instead of using critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Both are necessary for librarians - her response was, "it's just a matter of checking out the book" I had to explain to her the option was not on the kiosk, which is why I approached her to check it out.
I whether not interact with the Librarians just as much as they prefer not to do their job by engaging with customers. The employee was willing to check me out but did not empathize with the kiosk issue.
The selection and quality of books I get here are the best. The WPL app is extremely handy for requesting my holds, and this location is convenient to home and from work to swing by for my books. Adding another star leaves this review at a 3. If it weren't for the book selection, organization, and cleanliness, this would be a 2 at best due to the poor customer interaction and the glitchy kiosk technology issue on Thursday...
Read moreRough day at the library today. I got there at 9:15am to find out they open at 10. 10am seems kind of late to start your day. I was told 3 times in 35 minutes there was a 30 minute time limit (including once about 2 minutes after they opened). There were about 8 staffers at the library and about 5 people visiting the library. Not sure why one can only stay 30 minutes if there is no one there. Seems like they would want library visitors there to help justify 8 people on staff. I feel for those telling me I needed to be out in 30 minutes. Hopefully their work load picks up to the point where they don’t have to tell me to leave to feel important. Hopefully they can open some more work stations when they think the pandemic is over. The ratio of offices and meeting rooms to work stations for visitors seems a little off. On a positive note, I do like how downtown Cary seems to have improved a lot over the last several...
