My appt was with Katelyn 3.5 wks before my wedding. I told her i wanted to be under $1k & didnât want a strapless dress since i always wear one. She brought in several dresses and brought one that was strapless, with beading and lace. I was hesitant about it. However, i did try it on and to my surprise i loved it. My friend and I asked her about the seamstress and she said she has over 20 something years of experience. Now this is important to note I am a petite woman who is 5 ft tall and weighs 91 lbs. I already have a tailor who i use since most of my clothes donât fit me. I decided to use their seamstress since her main focus are wedding dresses. 1st fitting, literally took less than 5 minutes. She just pulled in the dress and knew how much she needed to cut. Didnât measure me with a measuring tape, just did it by hand. 2nd fitting- measure the hem but the dress was too tight. I couldnt breath and my back fat was oozing out. I told them it was too tight. They said it needed to be tight so it wouldnât fall especially since it was strapless. I have worn tons of strapless dresses and my back fat NEVER came out, did i mention i weigh 91 pounds. Obviously this dress was too tight for my body. 3rd fitting, dress was still very tight and back fat was still coming out. I kept telling the seamstress and Rachel (sales assoc) that it was too tight but they kept telling me it had to be tight or else it would fall. They gave me an option of putting straps on to cover my back so i agreed since I did want a dress with straps. 4th fitting the straps are on the dress. It was pieces of tulle just cut up and sewn on - sloppy job. I just wanted the dress to be loosened since it was tight and the fat was still showing through the ugly tulle straps. But they kept saying not to worry that they will find a solution to it. So they thought of adding a back panel to cover my back. I agreed. Katelyn tells me i need to pay $200 for this back panel. I obviously refused since i saw the work of the straps and thought she will probably do a sloppy job with the back panel. All i wanted them to do was to make it loose and i kept telling that to Katelyn. Im NOT fat but if you are trying to squeeze me into a dress that doesnât fit me, well, fat will come out. Katelyn kept telling me they canât make it loose because the front will be loose. I asked her if they can take it from the sides and she kept saying the dress is a full circle, if you loosen it from the back the front will be loose. They agreed to âgiftâ me the back panel. Last fitting was Friday, 3 days before leaving for my wedding destination. The back panel was not completely sewn or had buttons on since she wasnât sure if I was going to like it. They asked for an extra hour while she finished adding the buttons. Once she was done adding the buttons i just left the boutique with the dress and didnât try the dress on. I tried the dress on at home. It was so tight i could barely breath. Once i manged to button the back up I noticed I had a muffin top coming out of my back. I immediately call the boutique but they donât pick up since it was 8p. That same night I took my dress to Skylark Tailors at Cary Town Center Mall. I tried it on for them and they said it was too tight. Obviously I agree with them. I needed 2.5 inches to be taken out from the back and 1 inch in the waist. Long story made short, Skylark Tailors fixed my dress. They were able to let out as much fabric as possible and they added push up cups inside the dress, since Lana Addisonâs seamstress only put in tear drop cups with no padding. I was finally able to breath and fat was NOT oozing out. The people at Lana Addison just want to make money and its obvious they make a lot if you use their seamstress. The whole fitting process was very stressful at the boutique and they donât care to listen. If you need a tailor for your wedding dress and that wonât charge you over $800 go to...
Read moreI was recommended to Lana Addison bridal shop by their Up-Scale Bridal Boutique Alexis Bridal they are Partners (Sisters), which was totally find they assured me that I would fine a dress within my budget. When I arrived, I must say that I liked Lana Addison Bridal, they were very nice, polite, and friendly(Nicole was my consultant). I arrived for the appointment they had already consulted with their Partner Alexis Bridal and knew what type of dresses I was looking for. I was impressed that they work so good together. I immediately picked the perfect dress as soon as I entered the dressing room. I loved the dress it was so beautiful even though I could not completely fit there sample gown. I sealed the deal I found my dress. Now its time for measurements. Everything seemed to go fine, they took my measurements and ordered my dress. They have a policy as to when you can pick up your gown and that is only Tuesdays thru Friday, NO SATURDAY'S. On 10/6/2017 I had a n appointment for my fitting and to pick up my gown( Katelyn was my consultant). I was a hour late I had to drive 2 1/2 hours and there was heavy traffic, which I called a explained to them. When I arrived the young lady that was helping me stated that she had another appointment that was coming in, which was fine, I was late. There were other girls there that could have helped. As soon as she opened the bag to my dress I told her that I look very big . She was rushing not taking her time trying to put the dress on before my petticoat. When I did get the dress on it was to big that if I wasn't holding it up with my hands it would have fell completely to my knees. I had to ask for the belt I ordered for the dress and veil. She was just trying to get me in and out sign the paper stating that you picked up your dress. She left the room for her other appointment and never returned back to check on me to see if everything was fine. If it wasn't for my best friend helping with fitting the gown I don't know what would have done. We had to hunt her down just so that she could come a put the dress back into the bag. I was there for 1 1/2 hours My first visit was better than my fitting and picking up of my gown. The next day I called Lana Addison Bridal and expressed how unhappy I was with my gown because it did not fit me at all. She advise me that when they take measurements they recommend the largest size between the bust, waist, and the hips. I am a size 16 they recommend that I order a 26, not knowing bridal sizes I trusted them but all they were doing was look to make more money with the alterations (I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO DOES NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT MEASUREMENT IN BRIDAL TO DO SOME RESEARCH.) Not understanding bridal measurements and letting them tell me what they recommend is now having me to spend money on alterations. I spent nearly 3,000.00 at Lana Addison Bridal. All she could say is that she trust her consultant measurements, and that I could bring the dress in for alterations starting at $600 to $800. If I wanted to come back to get remeasured I could. I told her what do I look like driving 2 and a half hours just for you to measure me again and tell me the same thing. Read there policies there fine print. I would recommend to anyone. UPDATE with all this said I took my dress back. I unexpectedly got pregnant the dress size was perfect in this case I was still big in some areas eventhough I was 8 month pregnant. They work with me the week I was to get married to ensure my dress was perfect....
Read moreI rarely post public reviews with more detail other than recommend or great service. However, any future customer needs to know about my experience.
I wasn't familiar with Lana Addison until referred. Having been in the industry and attending a Vera Wang trunk show at their sister store, Alexia's, years before, I knew quality would be what I was looking for. I, like many women, knew what I wanted. For me, vintage, timeless classic, simple, yet detailed, not bespoke price, but not off the rack available everywhere. Paradox? Possibly. What I can say, Lana Addison, got me. From first email, to rounds of images back and forth, to day of appointment, they delivered. They were the perfect fit for my style, personality, and service I wanted.
Atmosphere: Intimate, Inviting, Calming.
Appointment: Weekend, boutique didn't overbook, never felt rushed. From entering felt welcomed like family and everyone, from brides to staff all genuinely laughed and shared.
Selection: They took time to know me before hand as shared above, knew my specific tastes and had several waiting for me. Ultimately, they surprised me with a dress I fell in love with. Truly wonderful service. Customer focused. They carry designers who understand the true meaning of classic style and elegance.
Staff: Brittany and Brandi were just well, amazing when they helped me in 2015. For reasons they know and some I'll share. Rachel continues this way of service the boutique has more than proven to be exactly what a client hopes for. Coming from a business perspective, as a owner, I would want my clients to them representing my business. Thank you to the owner for hiring wonderful women and caring so much about your clients.
I highly recommend Lana Addison Bridal.
âĄMy Story Having had recent surgery months before for breast cancer, I was apprehensive about even trying on gowns. One moment, emotion did come over me. I was blessed to have one of my dearest friends with me who quickly got me back on track. 'Nothing a boob job can't fix, now let's try this one..' đđ What truly won me over was they got my humor and rolled right along with me. As a person who has consulted years on brand and customer loyalty, this was gold. However, that day, as a woman, still working through how my body had changed, how I had changed, their ability to connect will forever stay with me. Even as more things have changed in my life after that day, they were constant.
To the women of Lana Addison, When, if, where my I do happens to be, you'll be just a part of it as you were May 9, 2015 when you reminded me beauty is how we wear the scars life gave us, and having hope, love, laughter still, all the more reason to be proud of them.
My scars, as beautiful as the dress you found for me, is one Paradox I will always be thankful for.
