I went in to ask for clips that are called alligator clips. I didn’t know what those clips were called until the day before because I was making bows for the first time. I went looking for an employee but didn’t find any. The only place I could find one was in the framing section. The lady was helping a customer which is no problem at all, however she didn’t even acknowledge me or looked my way. Completely ignored me. I didn’t say anything but atp I had waited way too long so I went to find another worker. I finally found one and explained to her that I was looking for alligator clips because I genuinely couldn’t find them. Once I told her, and I stg I’m not lying when I say this, she responded “I know what they are I’m not stupid.” I was in complete shock and I immediately told her “Oh ma’am I didn’t mean it that way, I didn’t mean to offend you” although I don’t know what in the world I did to offend her. And she said “It’s okay you didn’t offend me.” Clearly I did lol. (My bf witnessed the whole thing and just looked at me with confusion, as he was literally right there and heard what was said) This was a much older woman with grey hair and of short length. I wish I could’ve gotten her name but I didn’t. She didn’t even apologize after being so rude. I was already having a rough day and she only came back when I believe she heard me crying or talking to my bf about how I didn’t understand what I did. All she said was “I didn’t mean to upset you.” What happened to I’m sorry? This honestly has nothing to do with the company itself, but more so this person who works there and probably still works there. Now, I was taught to respect my elders (I’m 19 btw) but that was literally insaneeee. I wish I would’ve talked back but I didn’t. Fortunately I was raised right, unlike her. I don’t know who let this woman think it was okay to talk to ANYONE that way, but...
Read moreI'd like to take a moment to recognize and thank Lacee from your Cary Crossroads Custom Framing Department for her excellence in true - active - actual customer SERVICE. I went to pick up my framed art this past weekend only to find that for some unknown reason, the metal plaque was mounted to the middle of my artwork. When I placed the order for the plaque, we talked about whether or not it would fit on the outside of the frame, or centered on the glass on the outside or centered at the bottom of the mat inside the frame, never did we discuss mounting it on the artwork. So when I opened the package to check your work before leaving, my heart sunk. Michaels has demonstrated total lack of care or concern. I didn't know what to say... Lacee and new employee, Kim, both reacted as professionally as possible with surprise to see the plaque mounted on my actual artwork. THANKFULLY, I had printed a photo that was easily re-printable. Not free, but easily reprintable. Thankfully, we're not talking about a priceless piece of art. If it had been, based on the disservice I'd experienced, it would not be surprising. Lacee is an exceptionally attentive, kind, professional and capable employee - who clearly demonstrates real pride in doing good work. I sincerely hope that she is acknowledged for her customer service excellence. She listened to me calmly and patiently (as did Kim) and offered me reasonable solutions. My re-ordered custom mounted plaque framed piece was correct / to my satisfaction now. Kudos and sincere thanks to Lacee, Kim (new...
Read moreNice people. Great frame selections. All overshadowed by actal frame work that sucks and very high custom framing prices lowered only slightly by "up to 70 percent off" sales.
My story: Ordered custom framing of a Norman Rockwell print on Dec. 2. In the framing "preview" provided, the frame would cover the fine print at print's border. Came to pick up the "finished" framing the first time and the fine print was visible. So they said they'd fix it.
Came back today for the "fixed" version and they'd added a mat, which I did not request or want. Clerk said mat was added to hide the fine print, which I originally was told the frame alone would hide. And the unwanted mat was cut crookedly.
Now I'm told the framing ordered Dec. 2 to hang by Christmas will be "ready" first of the year. We paid over $100 for this work. (Yes, you must pay in advance, before the work is finished to your satisfaction.) Supposedly "saved" $215. Doesn't feel like I saved anything. Been to this store three times for the same project. And I still don't have what I paid for.
Update: Finally, my print was framed as originally promised. Received 12/30/2018 along with a full refund for all...
