I ended up calling back talk to Sarah. She was ending her shift. She was the one that had called me this morning. So I ended up calling back and talking to the manager. She didn't know who I was. I don't know who I talk to in the first part of December Regardless still the manager said I can go into any LA fitness I said I drive a 73 foot truck. It's very hard for me to make a trip. I just don't understand this type of business. I ended up telling her I'm not gonna make it in ridiculous corporate makes these rules they've lost a customer. Must say that the manager told me that she was confused on what I wanna do. It's unreal. I keep repeating take my credit card. Take my account number off of your system. Do not charge me anymore.

Unfortunately, you got another call from LA fitness completely have the wrong notes labeling me as one of their customers saying they just froze the membership on December 5 that was incorrect. The notes below explain all this it's unreal that the person calling me was in the dark. and didn't know because improper notes were taken. It's not her fault. Think about how upset I am yes as a customer that be treated like this ruining a 10 year relationship I had with them. Yes I'm PO I told him I repeatedly told him take my credit card off their system. Ridiculous to put someone through this bad business. I will be contacting corporate making them aware. It's not you're right to force somebody to be in person to cancel a membership.

One of the worst things you can do is listen to one of your customers call in and tell them at this point in our country existence about their situation with banking and finances. I drive a big rig and cannot physically be in Centerville, Ohio. I still live in Miamisburg, Ohio Unfortunately, it's the same old same old with corporations. I now take away the five star rating.
Have not used the membership in several months, but I continue to pay the $50 fee for quite some time. It's a $10 charge to keep the membership but not use the club so I told them to stop taking the money out of my account due to my situation she said I have to physically come in Wrong answer. I gave her an opportunity to delete the payment and she refused. She warned me gave me warnings wrong answer. You are falling in line with conglomerate that strong arm people financially. Good luck in future endeavors. I will never shop at your store again locally you had your chancewake up America you are part of the problem.

Read moreMyself and two friends got our memberships when the club first opened a few years back and kept them for approximately 18 months. Initially the facility was very nice. Clean, friendly gym users, new equipment, decent pool, etc. The staff was what we expected...if you use them, they're friendly. If you do not, they basically strut around acting like they own the facility and ignore the fact that you are there.
Overall the facility is decent. It's a traditional gym and offers several options for cardio equipment, spinning, yoga, gymnasium, free-weights and weight machines. It takes a lot of abuse from users, so its expected that from time-to-time something will breakdown. However, when it does it seemed to take some time before it was repaired. The men's sauna seemed to be non-functional more than in operation.
Regarding atmosphere; I agree with a separate post: the temperature is usually very warm and in the summer months it gets quite humid in the facility, especially on the mezzanine where the cardio equipment is kept. The locker rooms are even worse...you end up sweating the moment you step out of the shower which makes it difficult to shower and dress for work! Often times the paper towels would constantly be empty...seemingly taking days to be refilled. Makes for pretty gross equipment when you can't wipe down a machine.
One of their advertised amenities is child care...which is a bit of a joke and I do not recommend taking your children to the gym with you. First off, it's an added cost and not cheap. Secondly, they often have a single individual overseeing upwards of 15-20 kids ranging from infants to 8 years old. When you first walk in they have a check-in reception area which is supposed to separate kids from toddlers/infants. The first day my wife and I took our 4-mo old son in there were 3 or 4 girls easily 4+ years old touching, grabbing, talking, etc. to the toddlers. We took our son twice within 3 days and he came home with the RotoVirus. Needless to say we never went back and that is what ultimately ended our membership with LA Fitness.
They have no "management" and good luck asking someone to do something as simple as change a TV channel (which is CONSTANTLY on infomercials, Bravo or Home-Shopping Network....not quite "motivational" stuff to watch while working out).
Overall, I would rate this gym as average. I've seen much worse with much worse facilities and less to offer for the same price. That said, I've seen much better with much more to offer for essentially the same price. Sadly, it's in a good location and accessible to a lot of people, so it will see plenty of business. Read moreI joined this location in 2011 and generally like the gym because the equipment is nice and in general it is a nice facility. The staff are not very friendly, and many are downright rude. I decided to cancel my membership last weekend after a very unprofessional encounter with the staff. They will not let members control the TVs, which is fine. However, 1/3 of their tvs are tuned into Fox News, which in general is known to be a News Channel dedicated to a right leaning and Republican point of view. There is no need to have it on so many monitors. They have tried to balance it out by showing CNN on a few TVs as well, but some days, it is only on Fox. That was the case on Saturday, when the only thing showing was Fox News and sports channels by all the elliptical machines. I went down and asked the young lady at the desk if she could change the channel at the TV in front of the elliptical because on every 3rd TV, all they were showing was Fox News with sports in between. She had a sales trainer come over, who said they couldn't change the channels. They both became very rude and said I was trying to stifle free speech, because I was asking them to change one TV. He told me they have 1000s of other customers. He said this was a political issue, and I just had to deal with it. They told me to go workout in the downstairs area on the 3 ellipticals there. I went there and only Fox News and sports were on there as well! They continued to argue with me, and the lady at the desk kept telling me people say CNN is also biased and that she liked Fox News. All I kept saying is, can they please show other news channels as well to be fair and balanced. The gentleman told the other girl to stop talking to me and just ignore me. I told them I would just cancel my membership, and he said I would have to come back during the week. All 3 staff members that day were very rude to me, argued with me, and made my concerns seem very insignificant and dismissed me. It was unbelievable that they would treat a paying member this way. Very bad customer service experience, and honestly, many people find Fox News offensive as it is very biased. The least they could do at a diverse sports club is offer more options than to have Fox News showing on so many monitors. I can never go back after the way...
