This place is beautiful. I have traveled extensively and this is one of the best visitor’s centers I have ever come across. If I remember correctly, this is an old train station. You can see all of the original style today looking at it. It is not hard to imagine what it look like years ago.

In the years since I have lived here, they have renovated the inside and they also add it a parking garage nearby.

Because parking is sometimes very hard to fine. This parking garage that is nearby makes it very convenient to take the shuttle which is free to everyone in the downtown area. I had been living here almost 10 years before I knew this.

Inside the building is plenty of seating. Lots of people come here just to rest in between siteseeing and the museum across the street all of the tour buses drop off in this area right up under the overhang which makes it extremely convenient.

The restrooms are clean and open to the public. This is very important because it’s hard to find restaurants in this area if you are not near a restaurant.

Extremely kid friendly. The children’s museum is within walking distance. There is an outside area for dogs. I did not see a fireplace. The Marketplace beside the building has many things that you may need if you’ve been walking for hours. It is also cool inside.

I got there a little after four - they close at five. There were quite a few people behind the desks talking. They were talking so I’m not sure if they were the ones that assisted visitors or did something else completely . I wasn’t sure because because I haven’t been here in a long time. I walked around a little until closer to five. At that time one of the ladies walked over to me to tell me they were closed.

#TTIP: start right here lat the visitor center. You can park your car , use the restroom or get something to eat as there are many restaurants in the area.

Lots of accessible parking and seating on the inside.

The free shuttle picks up here. One end of the visitors center is attached to a restaurant/Bistro type eating place.

You’re also within walking distance of so many things you didn’t know you...

My experience with the Charleston Visitor Center and Tourist Shuttle Service was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I stepped into the visitor center, they have ample parking space, and I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm from the staff who were incredibly knowledgeable about all things Charleston.

The shuttle service itself was incredibly convenient, making it a breeze to navigate this charming city. The buses were clean, comfortable, and always on time. Not to mention, the drivers were friendly and provided insightful commentary along the way, adding an extra layer of depth to my exploration of Charleston's rich history and culture.

What truly stood out to me was the attention to detail and the dedication to providing a memorable experience for visitors. The shuttle service made it effortless to hop on and off at various attractions, allowing me to customize my itinerary and make the most of my time in this beautiful city.

Overall, I can't recommend the Charleston Visitor Center and Tourist Shuttle Service enough. Whether you're a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, this service is a must-have for anyone looking to explore all that Charleston has to offer. Thank you for an...

My experience wasnt great....Its really hard to find. Since it's under construction there is a temporary area in the back. You do have to pay for parking $1 for every half hour, not very welcoming if you ask me. I finally find the joint and the employees were loud and obnoxious. Laughing and carrying on like it was some sort of social gathering. I didnt get asked once if I needed some assistance. That ticked me off because thats the point of a visitor center to help people in your city. So after grabbing some brochures I asked about the plantations. Which one would be best to see if I could only do one? I got they are all pretty good, pretty much the same type of thing. That's all I got on that. Restaurants? I got. It depends in what you like to eat, she started to list off names but, I had no idea where or what any of them were. I gave up and left. The local people have been more helpful than this place. Wish I could have my $1 back. Worst visitor center by far that I have...
