I doubt I come here again for awhile. The service here is a complete JOKE! If I could give a zero for service I would. And I really hate that I have to leave a review because I spoke with management, he was very apologetic and seemed so kind and sincere. But it wouldn’t be fair because I leave a review for EVERY restaurant I visit. First of all, I’ve been to way more TOP steak houses than this one and this one shouldn’t even be considered a high end steak house really. I really see why people told me to not come here in the first place, but I always want to get my own view and experience on places. First of all, the ladies at the front don’t even make that much $ for how they try to act towards people. This is a bottom end steak house compared to Ruth Chris, steak 48, Sullivans, Eddie Vs, STK, and many more that I’ve been to.
FYI - I’m a steak eater - so I know my steak
So, I placed an order online and received a call later that I ordered a raw steak. Okay, granted. I asked them to just switch it out for a “cooked” steak and I wouldn’t mind paying. So the lady told me I would have to cancel my previous order and place a new online or over the phone since their system “doesn’t save card info” so I said I’ll just place the “new” order now while we’re on the phone. Order placed and call ended. A lady ended up contacting me back and asking for my full card details over the phone in order to put my order through. I arrive at the restaurant to pick up my order and they asked for my card AGAIN! EXCUSE ME?!!! So the lady told me I’m sorry they should’ve told you you need your physical card in person to process the order that’s just the policy. Okay, why did yal take my full card details over the phone and not tell me that over the phone? “Just for a $1 hold.” So I bring my card inside and a lady is heading to the back with my card to “close and charge my card.” I don’t play that taking my card out of my sight and to the back of the restaurant. The same way yal tryna prevent scammers I’m trying to prevent my card from being scammed too. So another lady made it her business to try to say something to me with an attitude when she had no idea what was going on - should’ve stayed in her place. So I asked the lady that I spoke with otp what’s going on? She try to act like she wasn’t the one that I was talking to otp. She ended up telling me it’s because of scammers and this and that. Excuse me? Ma’am do I look like a scammer to you? They’re lucky it was Valentine’s Day and people in the restaurant!!!!
Food - steak is okay it’s not all of that. My steak was so PINK when I asked for it to be WELL DONE! They still inconvenienced me because I had to come home after a long day and put a “cooked” steak in the oven. Steak was not seasoned AT ALL. Other steak houses season their steak. I had a wedge salad as well my order totaled...

There are dinners… and then there are experiences. What we had at The Capital Grille in Charlotte was nothing short of extraordinary—an exquisite balance of elevated cuisine, intuitive service, and heartfelt hospitality that deserves recognition at the highest level.
From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere buzzed with warmth, attentiveness, and polish. The staff here doesn’t just serve—they anticipate, and that makes all the difference. Each server is deeply knowledgeable—not only about the food and wine but about their guests. There’s a rhythm and grace to how they move, and it’s evident that they’re part of something special.
And that something starts at the top.
Scott Salzberg is a name that deserves applause. His leadership, vision, and standards are woven into every detail—from the impeccable timing of each course to the seamless coordination between the kitchen and the floor. He doesn’t just manage—he curates excellence. Under his guidance, this location has become a benchmark for what The Capital Grille brand should reflect.
Now to the food:
We began with the iconic Seafood Tower—an architectural marvel of freshness and flavor. Chilled lobster, oysters, shrimp, and lump crab, each bite perfectly handled and gorgeously presented.
We moved on to an unforgettable lineup of entrées: • The Porcini-Dusted Ribeye with a balsamic glaze was a standout—deep, earthy, and luxuriously bold. • The Bone-In Filet and Ribeye were both textbook examples of expert butchery and masterful execution—seared beautifully, rested to perfection, and bursting with flavor.
The accompaniments? Just as exceptional: • Roasted mushrooms, tender and umami-rich • Creamed corn, sweet and delicate • Crisp asparagus, kissed by char and finished with lemon • And let’s talk about those mashed potatoes—creamy, buttery, and ethereal. The kind of mash you remember long after dessert.
And dessert? Sublime. From the brûléed cheesecake to the fluffy coconut cream pie, each finale was crafted with as much precision as the entrées themselves.
What makes this location truly shine, though, is the soul behind the service. The joy. The pride. The consistency. The ability to make every guest feel like they’re part of something exclusive—without ever feeling uninvited.
To Capital Grille corporate: If you’re seeking a model location—one that exemplifies not just your brand, but your legacy—look no further than Scott Salzberg and his exceptional team in Charlotte. They’re not just meeting expectations. They’re...
Read moreMade a reservation yesterday - Valentine’s Day for 1. I had been wanting to go to Capital Grille for some time now and was very excited to celebrate the night. I was finishing my steak when I had an aggressive white woman walk by my table, stopped and tapped on my table to tell me that was supposed to be her table and that they always get seated there every time they come in and had reservations at 5:15pm. I was immediately taken back by her nasty attitude and shocked at what came out of this woman's mouth. Mind you my reservation was at 4:15pm and because of the holiday and volume - It took longer for my food to come out. There were couples around me who waited longer who were there before me and after me. Waiting was not a problem considering it’s one of the biggest days in the restaurant industry. If you are going to go out on such a busy day you should lead with kindness, empathy and patience - if you can’t, stay home. The woman walked away and was seated - I asked to speak to the manager and he stated that the woman likes to make reservations - come in and sit where I was sitting but I could continue to sit there with no problem. He said everything was fine. I let him know that was not okay and behavior of that sort should not be tolerated - the table did not have anyones name on it nor did I ask to be seated there. I was never told that I had 1 hour to sit at my table to eat my dinner or was told I had a time limit like the woman insisted when she stopped at my table with her ignorance. I did not see the manager follow up with the woman and husband at any point to assure the woman that she could not act in that manner and address her seating concerns. Upon arrival I watched all couples next to me get greeted by their servers with “Happy Valentines Day” and since I was by myself apparently the server did not find it of value - I was never greeted that way. At the end I watched couples who were leaving get a rose - my server walked out with my left over food packed up and brought no rose. I had to ask the server for a rose. Terrible experience overall - I felt so embarrassed, racist establishment (setting unrealistic expectations for their customers, just to keep a certain class happy), racist clientele (not all I’m sure but this woman was) - the manager held no accountability for the restaurants policies or standards last night. I will not be recommending this establishment to anyone. As a minority woman and a generous paying customer I deserved and deserve a better experience...
