I have heard a lot about this place but actually going there was a bit disappointing. While the food was not that bad, the service is the reason why I'm giving this establishment such a low rating. First off, I felt rushed to order. This was my first time here and the older lady behind the cash register was very rude. Had no patience. It was bad enough I did not want to leave a tip. I was not pleased. Secondly, she charges me $.95 for sour cream instead of the $.50 it was supposed to be with the quesadilla. While, I'm not bothered by $.45, I did decide to ask. She tried to argue with me stating that she charged the right amount as a side. I told her that is not what the menu is saying. At that time, there were two employees getting into it in the kitchen. A thirs stepped in and told the one girl to go in the back. The lady at register looks at me and says "that's ridiculous". Really...that's all you have to say. So, the last thing that pushed me over was I ordered a side of yuka fries. They did not give a number to put on my table. However, there was a number on our ticket. Nevertheless, they gave the group beside us the same number that was on our ticket. When the yuka fries went to the other group, my wife told the lady that was our yuka fries. The lady tried to argue again, and said no they are number 16. The guy opened the box and said he didn't order it. She then took the box back to the kitchen, put the fries on a plate then returned to our table as if these were fresh fries. She then threw some churros and ice cream which were not that good on the table while saying.."I do not know what's going on in the kitchen". Im not sure if this lady was the manager but or not but she took no responsibility in her action nor those of the employees working there. Not sure if I'll return but I do want those who are visiting for the first time...

DO NOT GO TO UPTOWN IF YOU HAVE CASH AND ARE BLACK. I have been to the NODA location for years, because I live there and they are SUPERB. Never had an issue. I went to Uptown tonight. They deserve all this smoke. My order was the usual $40-50. They told me they would not accept my $100 bill and stated that it could be fake. I just got paid. Nothing but 100's in my pocket, in my scrubs, straight from work, and to be accused of a fake hundred is hella disrespectful. When I asked for a store number, the gentleman was shaking. I asked if they had a counterfeit pen to even verify ANY of the 100's I had in my pocket. They said their pen did not work and that they have been jipped by fake money from previous customers. When the cashier realized that was all I had, he changed his tune to, " we don't accept any bills larger than 20". I probed him to see how this would happen when this location is DIRECT walking distance from Truist/BBT bank uptown and we are the banking capital! I have never been treated in a manner where my money is not acceptable but if a baller came in for the same service, no issue or concern is raised. I was raised in the suburbs of Michigan and have never experienced this level of flabbergasting customer service. I have lived in NODA for 11 years and have ALWAYS had stellar service. Uptown is completely unacceptable. I literally have ordered for years through Ubereats and regular pickup while at work and at home and for friends. We literally left Optimist Park to come eat at Sabor. Fix it, Jesus. Sabor, I am highly disappointed.

Very Sincerely,

Loyal Consumer from NODA regarding...

I was visiting Charlotte this week and decided to talk a walk around uptown and find some food. Well I stumbled upon Sabor Latin Grill which I had never heard of before, but a Taco did sound delicious so i went in to give it a try. As soon as i walked in i was greeted by some wonderful latin music which was really upbeat and uplifting and the place was really clean too (98 Health score) so they get an A for Atmosphere (See what I did there? Lol) but what was most impressive is when I went in I only saw one employee, but it was slow so I thought nothing of it. So I order an Taco Authentico with the Al Pastor pork and a barbacoa quesadilla. Then I noticed the guy taking my order moved over to make the order also, and he made it PERFECT. The Barbacoa quesadilla was to die for... perfectly cooked on both sides, melty cheese and the peppers and onions OMG Order it tomorrow I promise you'll love it. As I was eating it started getting busy and it was still just the one guy by himself, I assume he was a Manager but they should really get that guy some help he was busting his butt in there by himself. Whatever his name is give him a raise. The overall experience was a 10 out of 10, great food great service and you cant ask for more. So if you see a Sabor Latin Grill stop in and try it...

Absolutely horrified with how this restaurant does business. I ordered through Uber eats and they go under a different name they go by papa’s arepas. We ordered two arepas and rice and maduros, the maduros and the arepas Rojas were fine the problem started with the classic arepa and the rice. First of all I don’t blame Uber since they take their prices and menus from the restaurant. The classic arepa was horribly made paid extra for steak and chicken and was given only steak and even that steak was barely there. They stuffed it more with onions and jalapeños. The rice was another issue they charged me extra for rice and it was a sauce cup of rice not even an actual cup of rice. That is a huge rip off and completely misleading. I called to the restaurant to try to see what was going on and the man that answered me was rude and off putting and tried to blame Uber for charging me when they set the prices and tell Uber what to put on their app. When I asked the gentleman what he was going to do to make this up since this was horrible he said they couldn’t do anything and I said that’s how you treat customers when they try to get something resolved and he then proceed to hang up on me. Horrible costumer service horrible food and horrible way of handling problems

I was in Chrlotte for the basketball game in Spectrum theater & I picked up this restaurant because it popped out due to it's Latin American Branding as compared to very common routine of Mexican restaurant. I simply loved Sabor. It's a unique Latin American restaurant. It is not a fast food restaurant. I tried Street food from the Menu, "Arepas Tradiconal" & "Gordita", both were delicious & fresh. Yuka fries were tasty, especially with their sauce. Chicken Fajitas soup had a unique taste & a must try. Best of all was their Freshly made Guacamole, I haven't had such a delicious FRESHLY made Guacamole ever. And the chips were very crispy & fresh. Please don't forget to try fresh Salsa from the Salsa bar, Verde was the best. I loved Chrurros & unique Guava Pineapple Empanadas for Dessert. Chrurros was filled with chocolate. This restaurant is definitely a must visit to enjoy Latin American food.

Think of Chipotle but with a lot more options from a variety of Latin American countries. It is much more than just your typical quesadillas or tacos. They have different Latin staples like arepas, platano maduros, empanadas, churros, etc. They have different flavors from different countries and they fuse it together. Good place to get a quick bite. Portions aren't too big when considering the price. This location is just blocks away from Spectrum arena, home of the Charlotte Hornets. We stopped in just before catching a game. Probably saved ourselves a few dollars by eating here as opposed to the arena. Nothing was too memorable. Everything was ok. I would definitely have it again if in the area. It is definitely worth at least one try. And with all the options available, you are bound to find something you will enjoy.
