Sub One Hoagie House has been on my radar for a while now and I finally got around to trying them out. I went around 1pm on a Tuesday to avoid the noon lunch rush. There was a steady stream of customers while I was there and it took about 25 minutes for me to get my food ordered and out the door (so I recommend calling ahead and ordering if you are in a hurry). I ordered the cheesesteak because 1) I love a good cheesesteak and 2) theirs gets great reviews. It was a good cheesesteak but a little heavy on the black pepper and not on the traditional Amoroso roll. But it was also not super greasy like other cheesesteaks are. The size was also pretty big for the price. I’ll be back to try some other menu items. Big parking lot, locally black owned business. Note- they accept credit cards but they charge you fifty cents for the transaction

Surprisingly, this is only my second time getting food from here in the 16 years I have been working 'just up the street', but in my defense I didn't know this place existed until late last year. The gentleman that answered the phone didn't bat an eyelid and just rolled up his sleeves when I told him I was calling to place an order for 14 hoagies for myself and some co-workers. I was given a pick-up time, and the subs were ready on time. For less than $10 a person, 13 of my co-workers and I got exactly what we ordered, each hoagie labeled with our names, and everyone said their hoagies were delicious! This is now a favorite lunch spot of mine and hopefully a few of my co-workers as well. Note: I had DEVOURED the first half of my hoagie before remembering to take a picture!

I am so ashamed that I’ve been in Charlotte all my life and never been here before now lol. I looked up best subs near me and they popped up. When I arrived I realized I’ve past this strip plenty of times over the years but not once have I looked and noticed it. The signage isn’t very visible, but no matter I’ve found it now and believe me I will be back. I tried the New Jersey cheesesteak and it was oh so good! Got sweet tea to drink and it was pure perfection. When I walked in the, the nostalgia of an old school sub shop just puts you right at ease. I spoke with an older gentleman who worked there and was cleaning tables and he was just the nicest person ever. So funny and friendly. I can’t wait to get back and try more items.

One of the best local, "mom-n-pop" hero- or "hoagie/sub" (as y'all call them here down south,) spots in/near uptown Charlotte right on Graham st near 8th and 9th streets. One if the best steak and cheeses in the city. The "steak sauce" they throw in it is amazing. Add some peppers, onions, LIGHT mayo and some salt and pepper, you're in business. Also, one of the best things about this spot is not only is it family run AND operated, (the same cats are always in there working and are super nice and helpful- GREAT SERVICE,) but the prices are the best aroubd; and all around, Sub One is just a great value and this spot is one of the very few places where you don't get what you pay for...you get more & better quality AND quantity. This place...
