Disappointing Experience - Poor Service and Hidden Fees
We visited this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon with another couple, expecting a nice, relaxed meal. Unfortunately, the service we received was far from acceptable. The restaurant wasn’t busy, yet everything moved at a snail’s pace. We each had a drink, and by the time our food arrived, our drinks were empty, and no one had bothered to check on us or offer refills. We were completely ignored after the food came.
To make matters worse, my wife’s fruit was clearly past its prime and tasted bad. When we mentioned these issues to our waitress, she didn’t apologize or offer to make it right. Instead, she simply stated they were short-staffed, as if that excused the lack of basic customer service.
The final straw was when we received our bill. They added an automatic 20% gratuity without any notice. Neither the menu nor the restaurant had any signage indicating this charge. When we brought this up, there was no effort to address our concerns.
Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience. We won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for good service and transparency.

The service here is consistently excellent—friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring. It’s clear they take pride in making every guest feel like part of the family.
Now, let’s talk about the food! Their chicken tenders are absolutely out of this world—crispy, juicy, and full of flavor. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients, and the care they put into their preparation really sets them apart. Whether you’re pairing them with their delicious sauces or enjoying them on their own, they’re a must-try!
We also love supporting Cedar Street Tavern because it’s a true local gem. In a world of chain restaurants, places like this remind us why it’s so important to support local businesses. They bring so much heart and soul to our community, and every visit feels like a treat.

Read moreIf I could leave 0 stars I would!!! Traveled from Columbia for a fun weekend in Charlotte and happened upon Cedar Street Tavern. The server who’s name is Sarah? (Brunette wearing grey at approx 4PM on 4/9/22) was extremely unprofessional when me and my friends, who had literally just walked through the door were trying to order. She had a horrible attitude and was disrespectful towards a few of the girls simply because we were deciding what to drink. The bar was NOT busy and we were not at all rowdy, we simply wanted to order a drink. Also, we heard her cursing and talking about our group WHILE we were there, to others who were also with us!! Honestly sort of killed the mood but we were able to shrug it off and continue our fun day. Please re-train Sarah on her Customer Service Skills seeing as we were NOT the...
