Okay. Nice environment + nice front desk+ nice problem solving attribute.
But if you do your hair coloring here, please triple check what color they give you. Last year I came to the salon, I told the specialist I want ânatural brownâ, fine itâs probably because I wrongly used the word ânaturalâ, she colored my hair to pure black. After realizing the color was wrong, the specialist and the front desk were very responsive, immediately booked me another appointment to redo the color. And they fixed my hair after some light bleaching. (And the most ironic thing is, I am an Asian, my natural hair color is black. Why would I pay anybody to color my hair to my original hair color)? But I were grateful for their attitude and services last year and I tipped her for 20% for both visits.
So, I booked another appointment today (7/19) with the same specialist again. Thatâs probably my dumbest decision ever. Before she started, I emphasized multiple times to her, I want medium brown. Medium! Brown! And she took out her phone and said from her record, she saw last year I came here, and I had two color codes from two separate appointments, one is darker and one is lighter. She asked if I want to mix the two colors. Apparently she remembered nothing about just 6 months ago she colored my hair wrong and had to redo everything. I told her please donât mix. The darker one was wrong, please use the lighter color code. I want Medium! Brown! And then she went to get me the hair dye. As I waited for her in the seat, I had a weird gut feeling that she probably going to mess up the color again because she looked in a rush. So when she brought the hair dye back in a tray, I asked her, you got me the same color code as last year 11/17, medium brown; the lighter one right ? (11/17 was the date they fixed my hair color last year). She said yes.
And. My hair was colored to pure black again, by the same lady.
And then they tried to book me another appointment in a month away and promised they will fix the color for me. They donât have any availability for any dates sooner than 8/7. And even for 8/7, they only had one time slot left and unfortunately didnât work for me. I had to wait until 8/19. I mean their attitude is great. And only the attitude is great.
The lady apologized and said she will make extra notes and make sure she will not use the same color code on my hair. I was like in my mind âcan you not relying on your notes? Just get me a brown color! Is it that difficult? It doesnât have to be the exact same color as my last visit. I understand different color codes may have be slightly different tones. But I will take anything in brown range! Can you please not dye my hair to undeniable black? â I tried to be chill be cool, not be angry but I felt frustrated and wasted of my time and wasted my time off from work this afternoon too. I have a natural black hair and I always go with brown so that I can add some colors+ without the need of bleaching. But guess what, now with that lady, even a brown needs some bleaching and rework now. And I need to spend another three hours on a work day just to get my hair color corrected. I lost all my cool and cried a little bit inside of the hair salon. I feel both my hair and my Friday mood were ruined.
I am still very angry. If you are in rush, then donât take clients. If you charge an Asian for hair coloring, donât color to their original hair color. If you have a hair stylist license, use your judgement and not just your color codes on your notes. If you canât differentiate black vs brown, donât offer hair coloring services. And most importantly, if you donât understand me due to my accents or anything, please tell me you donât understand and double check the color with me before putting your assumed color directly onto my hair!! How hard is it to get a confirmed yes on what color your client truly needs?
I normally donât leave bad Google reviews. But I really have to leave one now. Be...
Read moreGoing to Therapy Salon for my hair appointment was an absolute disaster, to put it mildly. I'd been eagerly anticipating my color and cut scheduled for April 12th, but two hours before my appointment, I received a message informing me that my stylist had injured her hand and had to rush to the hospital. Naturally, I was understanding and rescheduled for April 18th, hoping for the best.
When I arrived, I was greeted politely and sat down with my stylist, feeling optimistic as I explained what I wanted and showed her some reference pictures. She assured me it wouldn't be a problem and went off to mix the color. Having been to her before and had a great experience, I trusted her completely â but boy, was I wrong.
Instead of following the usual bayalage procedure, she started slathering color all over my head without any explanation. I was puzzled but decided to trust her judgment. After what felt like an eternity at the sink, she began cutting my hair, which turned out nothing like what I had asked for. To add insult to injury, she then passed me off to another stylist for the blow-dry and style.
As I watched in horror, I realized that the color was shockingly dark â almost black. When I voiced my concern, the stylist brushed it off, saying it would lighten up in the sun. I tried to stay calm, but inside, I was panicking. Even after expressing my dissatisfaction to both the stylist and my original one, they seemed unfazed and offered no real solutions.
Feeling defeated, I paid at the front desk and left, but the nightmare was far from over. Not only did I not get the full bayalage I had booked, but my hair was also fried beyond belief from whatever concoction they used. I've never experienced damage like this before. To make matters worse, when I called to complain, they couldn't fit me in for a corrective appointment for four days â and even then, they couldn't guarantee a fix.
After enduring three days of hiding my hair under a hat, I finally managed to secure an emergency appointment at another salon. When I asked for a refund for the botched color job, they refused, claiming it wasn't their policy. Promises of the owner calling to discuss the situation went unfulfilled, leaving me feeling utterly abandoned.
I won't name names, but suffice it to say, I'll never set foot in Therapy Salon again. The lack of customer service and accountability is appalling, and the damage done to my hair is a constant reminder of their incompetence. It's been over a week, and I'm still waiting for some form of resolution. Needless to say, I won't be recommending them to anyone...
Read moreI honestly havenât had an experience this bad in a while. I made an appointment with Stephanie because of her âexperienceâ. I have natural long dark hair, but I guess that was a problem because she took a look at my hair and gave me a whole lot of excuses as to why it could not be done. Examples: my hair is too dark, I was booked for the wrong thing, the hair color I wanted involved multiple dimensions, and she couldnât get all that done in one visit. To that, I let her know that I realize that it would take multiple visits to get there so I wasnât expecting the same color as the picture I provided. She responded with âI guess what I can do is take a test strain and call you with the results and give you a better ideaâ. She didnât even offer me anything options or suggestions of what she could do. At that point it was obvious to me she just did not want to color or work on my hair so I gave up and just asked to have her frame my hair and do a trim. Well that was an experience as well because she barely trimmed anything and the framing was average at best and somehow I still paid for a full cut. I will say they have other stylist and I havenât got a service from them so IDK. Maybe others have a better work. I know Taylor has done a hair trim before and I really liked it. But for a place that claims to specialize in color they sure have stylist with a lot of reasons they canât do...
