Escape Experience - Chattanooga Escape Room Games — Attraction in Chattanooga

Went to the Vaccine last night with Jada which was a fun experience. We would have failed but they did give an extra 5 minutes which was just barely enough to get it and finish. Overall very attentive and well organized, I enjoyed this experience and host.

Went to the C block prison one today since the last one was a good time and was deeply disappointed. Numerous parts of the "puzzle" were excessive time wasters to the point that this one felt more like a scam than an escape room. Jon was our host and they would respond when asked and had a good attitude but I think the issue lies more in the design of the escape room itself since 90% of one puzzle (I'll keep it vague so no spoilers) didn't even matter, just the last one. Then the other puzzle (which is where time ultimately ran out for us) was multiple lines/words to figure out with a deeply unintuitive method that felt more designed specifically to burn time as much as possible. Like maybe a couple words I could see it but multiple sentences? Mix those 2 together alone and it'll burn a significant portion of the timer which just didn't feel fun or enjoyable. Felt more like a scam/waste of $60.

For context both times it was just me and a friend and it was both of our first times doing escape rooms.

Overall I'd say the first experience was 5 stars but the second was 1 star which is why I averaged it to 3. Escape rooms should feel fun and rewarding which the Vaccine one did well not like you're just burning time on some "puzzle" which is more a guessing game and time killer than actually enjoyable like...

Me and my boyfriend have done 3 rooms prior to this experience. We usually enjoy these rooms so we decided to bring along our family. We decided to do Runaway Train which to our surprise was located in a different building. Nowhere when I booked was this information given to me. It was emailed to me at 8:25pm when we were already at the other location! When we arrived at the correct location we had to wait and look around for the person running the game. We locate him and Finally we reach the room. There were several of the locks malfunctioning, doors that were supposed to be locked that NEVER WERE which led to a lot of confusion when we solved puzzles and nothing happened, and to top it off the host didn’t even add back any time spent on these malfunctioning locks even when we made him aware. He however did forget to start our time back after fixing one of the locks for around 10 minutes. To my surprise when he restarted the time we were deducted not 10 but 15 minutes. Finn was lovely and I had an amazing time. The first time I came to the escape rooms she was our instructor and she was really nice, she was the only one working on a Saturday night and despite that was still so sweet. She helped a lot and her response time for needing a clue was always really quickly.

Joseph was also really sweet and helpful, I had him the second time I went and he was really patient with us and helped a lot. We did the vaccine one and it required a lot of math so he gave us some extra time which was really helpful because in my opinion this one was more difficult than the first one that I did, which was the cell break

Both the cell break and the vaccine were really fun and I enjoyed both, it was also really nice to have instructors who were respectful and patient with us and who cared about the completion. It was also really nice that both Finn and Joseph gave us a chance to finish the escape room.
