Donāt join this gym!!! Do yourself a favor and read the reviews 98% of them Iāve experienced myself first hand. Itās way over crowded, no parking and I found myself most of the time substituting for a bench or a machine I wanted to use. My wife was a member she had the āfriend ā plan and she wanted to switch to the 9.99 plan she was going to resign and I was going to join Alonzo āthe manager ā said your contract is up in April that was 6 weeks ago, he said donāt cancel just come in and weāll take care of you both. We came back walked through the door the guy at the counter asked how he could help, we explained we wanted to resign and join, looked 15 ft to the sales associate saw he was texting or playing agame on his phone and called him and asked if he was busy, he replied does it look like Iām busy? I couldnāt believe it so we went to go and talk to him which his name is Marcus from the very beginning I could tell that he did not want to be bothered whatsoever he was very rude and couldnāt give us any answers not like he wanted to anyway he pulled up my wifeās account and we noticed that we were charged $50 for an annual fee but her contract was already over and there was no way for us to get that back ,then we explained she wanted to move to the 9.99 plan And I wanted to join us for the 9.99 plan He then says that we had to pay a downgrade fee of $60 to move my wife to that plan I asked if there was a manager I was told the managers leave at 7 oāclock to come back tomorrow so we did it we sat at the bar for 20 minutes before I personally had to find a manager myself , The gentleman told me he was the acting manager in training that he didnāt know too many details so we sat with another associate and got absolutely nowhere Iām really not one to complain but this is absolutely ridiculous to sign up and to re-sign a contract for A Gym membership should not be this hard at all , iāve had an easier experience buying vehicles or even a house . I think this gym is lacking and Iāll turn off various starting at the top and all the way down the majority of the people that work there are very rude unprofessional and unknowledgeable also they will tell you that there is no hidden fees if you do not read the contract like your life depended on it trust me when I tell you you will get screwed over they will start taking money out of your account and you will have no idea what theyāre taking it out for until you complain. Yes itās 0 down yes itās 0 first month . There is a annual fee there is a enrollment fee there is a fee to downgrade your plan my wife paid extra for classes she could never get into ! Thereās a $20 late fee if you miss a payment they tried negotiating that he says they will waive that but if youāre paying direct deposit anyway how could you be late ? If you do not right off hand written letter 30 days prior to the end of your contract you will be charge a $50 annual fee! Non refundable here is definitely a tip if you choose to walk away from your contract you can without repercussions but they will not tell you that you just have to tell the bank to stop making payments to age and there is nothing they can do about it they canāt put you in collections because you donāt put your Social Security number down when...

I'll start out with the good. The gym has been opening up on time for the last few weekends since I wrote this review. Nice to see this has finally been addressed.
Now to the bad. I have been trying to finish up my shake pack, and the gym continues to make this a challenge. Since writing this original review a few weeks ago, this morning was the SECOND time where I could not purchase a shake because the gym did not have soap to clean the blenders. I don't understand how this could happen, let alone happen twice in as short of a period. I felt bad for the kid at the front desk as I know he doesn't do the ordering and has to answer for it. However, this is mind blowing that the gym can't even keep soap in stock to clean the blenders. The one comment that he did make that was also concerning was that they go through a lot of soap because they share the soap with the cleaning people. Not sure who uses what soap for what. But one would make the assumption that if there is no soap for the blenders, and that soap is shared with the people who clean the gym. Then the people who clean the gym probably do not have soap either. Again, not sure about the whole cleaners and soap situation, however, this is what the front desk is communicating.
Below is the original review with the second update at at the bottom.
Ashley, who opens during the week, is always on time, very friendly and makes everyone feel welcomed.
Unfortunately, the rest of my experiences at this gym fall far below expectations.
Every month, the gym runs out of ingredients for the shakes. Paying $6+ for shakes, you should at least be able to get what you want for that price.
The gym opens up late at least once a month on the weekend. This is a reoccurring theme as well that never seems to get fixed.
Check ins do not register and no rewards are earned some visits.
The shake pack is being pushed to collect money up front for 20 shakes and you get two free. This in theory makes life easier by not having to buy shakes daily and having two cards punched 10 times each. However, when the system is down they are unable to make shakes as they cannot log into the computer. Last time this happened I asked to speak to a manager and I was told there was none available and no one I could talk to because the manager was working out.
That level of customer service, or lack there of continued when I tried reaching out to the gym. I submitted feedback multiple times, with no response. I received a survey after a couple of days asking how my member feedback was on the website inquiry I submitted. At this point, I still have not heard from anyone at the gym.
A few days later as I was reading some reviews for the gym, I came across the edgecares email address and sent an email. I figured maybe I would get a response there instead of just submitting the feedback on the website. Again, this has come up empty.
Update as of 11/26 - I finally received a response to my email about a week after I sent it. They said they would address the concerns with the gym. Bumping them up to 3 stars in hopes to see some changes...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI joined Edge 12/2/24 because Esporta in Cherry Hill NJ was closing December 19th. Now I noticed Edge because itās still close to home & the hours are convenient. They open at 4am which got my attention. Now one thing I really donāt like is a really crowded/packed gym. At 5am it becomes tough to find certain equipment. And have to wait for someone to use certain machines. Yeah Esporta was packed after 5pm in the afternoon I totally understand that⦠but for Edge to be annoying packed in the mornings is just crazy. Donāt even bother showing up to edge in the afternoons.. because I left work today to go straight to the gym.. and the parking lot stretched out almost near Target. I regret making the quick decision in going to Edge.. will definitely cancel this membership asap & just travel to the Mount Laurel La fitness. Cause itās insane that I have to worry about if a place is gonna be crazy pack or not
Update: 06/27/25
Well in 12/2024 at first I hated the change. I had no choice but to join The Edge due to Esporta at Cherry Hill NJ closed down. I didnt like the idea of lack of machines, how pack it can get in the afternoon & how equipment/machines were always down. But its 06/2025 and I do see The Edge Fitness in Cherry Hill trying. Like I do see more squat racks, new treadmills, I do see that I can do all my workouts without worry. My only concern is going to the gym in the afternoon can be a war zone.. it seems like everyone form some kind of an alliance where they use multiple gym equipment at the point when I go into the gym it makes me wanna take a U-turn right back out just for that reason. There's like zero chance for me to use any machines that I would normally use and would have to wait a while til the machines are done with. Also the hoist machines where people do like cable flies and stuff not sure the name of it.. but they should upgrade it where you can add resistance to it.. I normally add 2.5-5lb weight plates to it but usually fall off once I start lifting.. its frustrating & fear one day that would be the reason for the machine/equipment to go down. But for now I go to the gym early in the mornings which works for me since its not too busy. But do miss the swimming pool though which you...
