Let me start off by saying the food is very good. Everything I had was great. However the service fell extremely short.
My husband, daughter (almost 2), and I drove over an hour to come have dinner with my mother and my grandmother. They loved the food and wanted to share this place with us. When we first got there, everything was totally fine. Our server was kind and we had no issues. One of our appetizers wasn’t delivered prior to our entrees, but that wasn’t a big deal. Things were still going pretty smoothly.
However, once our meals were dropped, we could not get our server to pay attention to us at all. We had finished all our waters and needed boxes and a dessert menu. For context, we arrived at 5pm, finished our meals at 5:50, and didn’t leave until 6:35.
She eventually gave us boxes for our leftovers, but only two, when we needed four or five. We ordered our desserts through the host because he saw that we were looking around for our server, and he told us he would pass along the message to her so she could ring them in, and then she didn’t deliver them for nearly 20+ minutes. It was just absurd. Because of this delay, my family and I didn’t get to do our after dinner plans because there wasn’t any time: my husband and I had to trek home an hour away to put our baby to bed.
I don’t ever leave negative service reviews unless the service was pretty unredeemable, and in this case, it truly was. At some points I could see our server hanging out by the bar, eating and laughing, while we sat there needing things, and while I tried to entertain my sleepy/cranky toddler. There was just zero sense of urgency, especially when the place wasn’t even crowded because we were dining relatively early. I didn’t expect to be catered to every 5 seconds, but she definitely dropped our food and decided she didn’t have to come back until we somehow captured her attention for the check.
Like I initially said: the food is good. But I also wanted to be transparent about the service because I feel like that’s part of the whole experience of...
Read moreWhat a gorgeous place at the Cherry Hill Mall! Halal, cute decor, great food, good vibes- what more could you ask for in a restaurant? So when you walk by it’s very unassuming but when you enter you feel like you’ve been transported to a restaurant in Turkey. There’s a large oven in the center of the restaurant that you can see the fresh pita being made as well as the flatbreads. The decor is so classy and so beautiful. The royal blues with the gold accents make for a regal experience. When you’re seated you’re greeted with complimentary pita with olive oil. There is a spice grinder at the table, I recommend grinding some spices in the olive oil. It makes it 10x better. The pita is so pillowy and has a wonderful yeasty flavor. For appetizer I recommend the lahmachun which is a seasoned ground beef stuffed on a flatbread. It’s not listed as an app, but I would just tell them you’d want it as an app. It’s crispy with the beautifully seasoned beef and it’s perfect with fresh raw onions they serve it with. It’s two large flatbreads so def enough food to share. The hummus is good, but I’ve definitely had better hummus at different establishments. Now for the main course, I have tried the mixed grill, chicken kebabs, Adana kebab, lamb chops, and beyti kebab. All were amazing honestly I can’t pick favorites. The mixed grill has a sampler of all the meats except for the beyti kebab (this is Adana kebab wrapped in lavash with a creamy sauce and a tomato sauce). As far as the sides go I’ve tried the rice, bulgar and fries. They’re all good, just depends what you’re in the mood for that day I guess. The fries though I must say were better than some of the fries I’ve gotten at other establishments where fries were their bread and butter. The food is served on these cute wooden boards with their name engraved in it. Definitely recommend for a date night or just after a stroll in the mall when you’re looking for some flavorful and...
Read moreWe were a party of 5 and came on Christmas. We got a bunch of apps, we liked the filo cheese roll, calamari and LOVED the complimentary bread. I didn’t like the zucchini pancakes much tho. We also got the mixed platter with beef, chicken, lamb, and adana kebab plus two sides that was supposed to feed 4 ppl. And we got a sea bass entree too, thinking the platter wouldn’t be enough for 5 ppl. But honestly we only ate half of the platter and half the fish. The leftovers could’ve fed another family of four. It was so filling. I liked the chicken and the Adana kebab. I heard positive reviews of the lamb from ppl at my table but I’m not a lamb girl. The beef was a bit chewy and the fish was kinda dry. But overall we enjoyed the platter. The side of fries we got were also really good. And the asparagus and potato’s that came on the platter were great. Then we got mixed baklava and a tres leches for dessert. I really enjoyed the tres leches but I didn’t like the baklavas. The service was really nice and our server provided us everything we needed at all times before even asking. And he walked us through a tour of the desserts that were displayed in the shelves. He was super nice and personable too. Also the layout and look of the restaurant is really nice and I love the look of the open cafe that takes up half the room. I’m only taking a star off for the food since not everything was stellar but the service was fantastic, most of the food was good and definitely very value for the price, and the ambiance was nice. I’ll have to come back for their Turkish coffee and Dubai chocolate cause it looked really good but it was too late for me to be...
