Overall a good experience and more likely than not to go again.
However, I was not happy with their child policy. Yes, their website says this is for age 7+; however, their FAQ says the following:
"Unfortunately, our headsets only size-down so much, and they typically don’t fit children younger than 7. If you happen to be near a Verse location, feel free to stop in and see if it will fit your child!"
This clearly implies that the primary reason for the age cutoff is the child's size and being able to wear the headset properly. My nearly 7 year old daughter is above average in height so I was quite confident that she would be able to wear the headset. We planned this out in advance and wanted to do the Star Walk and the Unreal Garden.
Upon arriving, the host initially made an issue about her still being six. When I referred to the FAQ and said that my understanding was that the concern was the headset not being able to fit, the host started saying things about her not being capable of doing it based on needing to be able to read or needing an understanding of astronomy to be able to answer the questions during the experience, etc. It was insulting and I pushed back. To his credit, the host allowed her to do it, and we had a great time.
If they don't want younger children to do this, just be up front about it and have it be adult only or even 13+. Don't give a bunch of BS of why they aren't capable. How do you know she can't read? How do you know she's not a budding astronomer?
MORAL: Have your child lie about their age if they are close to 7 and avoid the...
Read moreCame in vacation last week and it looked really cool. And it was! Definitely unique. I did however have a few issues that really should be fixed. We paid for unlimited time at 12pm slot. When we arrived we were told there was an hour wait..so why are there time slots instead of saying first come first serve. This frustrated me as we were on a time table. But we waited got some lunch. When it was our turn we all started and it was fun after about 45 minutes one of the workers told us we would have to give up our headsets soon as there were other people waiting. To which I argued with him that we paid for unlimited time and that's what I expect. Another worker saw this and tried to back track saying they just needed to charge the headsets which wasn't really what 1st guy said. I was about to demand a refund as I paid alot and was only getting 15 minutes more than the cheapest ticket. But they let us keep the headsets after that. Therefor I did not. While I enjoyed the experience it definitely was frustrating for these issues. So if you book a time don't expect to play right...
Read moreTo me, the help weren’t quite professional and played around a lot -This was actual a waste of money and time -it’s fascinating because it’s something new, but not quite mastered. you still get motion sickness, because sometimes you get glitches in the headset “that’s over your eyes” -even though you’re able to still see out of the virtual reality headset -after so long you’re gonna wanna just quit or leave :I advise you only do one attraction at a time. I chose to do three attractions & by my second attraction. I was told that I could come back for the last two attractions I paid for because the equipment seems to have technical difficulties. I refused because I just wanted to get it over with -The Astro League was the best attraction they had. The price of these attraction should be lower. I booked for a certain time and we still had to wait. It’s inside block 37 mall right at the State st. Entrance. When I was there -there’s a lot of kids running around the mall being mischievous.. Really had me worried by time I walked out...
