My wife and I have been to Niagara Falls many times but this was our first time in the store today. I was not impressed.
Let me start with this disclaimer: if you all have read my reviews to this point, you know I am extremely fair in my reviews, so if you get a bad review from me, you have certainly earned it.
So why was I not impressed? I realize that the place was touristy, and the prices reflected that, but the place was just OK to me. The employees did a horrible job of making customers feel welcome in that they either stayed by themselves or they were in a group talking together, and that includes them talking at the register.
Anyhow, my wife was able to find a few things she wanted, and I was mostly annoyed because they had several clothing items I wanted, but they had small to medium sizes. Though I am a large, I always buy a size extra because I like the extra room. They had nothing for the most part in XL sizes. They had this gold and blue-striped jacket (with the Maid of the Mist logo) that I wanted badly but the employee told me that they had no XL sizes. They had plenty of XXS (XXS? Really?) to Medium, but no XL sizes for this jacket.
Please do better on the sizes, and do MUCH better on the customer service. Today, I heard not one employee say so much as a 'welcome'. As a former customer service professional for over twenty years (including higher-level management), if these employees were mine, they'd be in major trouble. Again, do better.

Read moreNo signs are posted about store's hours even though Google Maps states 7:30p.
Our group walks in to shop and at 6:10p, an employee states the store will close in a few minutes. I proceed to the register and hear two employees talking about closing up early. We decide to head to the bench outside the store to wait for the Fall's lights to turn on. As people walk up to the doors, some individuals and some families, they approach the door to find them locked at around 6:15p. They knock on the door to get an employee's attention, who is sweeping the front of the store asking if the store is closed. The employee does not acknowledge them whatsoever. This goes on for about 5 to 10 minutes.
It is understandable that there is no sign posted for store hours, but it is disrespectful for tourists to be ignored for wanting to take a memorable gift...
