First of all, I would like to say HI 👋. My experience with this Hotel 🏨 was the Spacious room for our dogs, for them to feels like they are at home whenever we go out. Our room on Canada 🇨🇦 side so we were able enjoyed watching the fireworks every night and the mist from the fall. But there are a But. 1. Coffee maker are dusty. 2. The sink were not working, I fixed it by using and squeezed empty botol to drain the water instead of plunger. My husband call me MacGyver. 3. Shower door 🚪 so hard to close. 4. Water from the shower so little pressure and not hot. 5. No microwave in our room, we had to go to utility room which is on the 1st floor 2 times a day to heating up my dogs food. Very inconvenient (on their website it says microwave is available in the room). 6. Full breakfast??? Not at all. 2 stars hotel call this Continental Breakfast. Full Breaksfast is what Embassy Suites Hotel's serves. The worst part was the 2nd day we stay, sign DO NOT DISTURB ignored by the staff by entering our room. We have 2 chihuahuas. When we came back to our room, my two chis, were hiding in the bathroom because scared 😱, and one of them made a poop on their bad brought from home ( I know one of my dog 🐕 when he is afraid he will poop, it happens everytime we take him to the vet to trim his nails he will poop and pee because of scared). I was really really not happy about this and my husband told the manager what was happened. In all vacations we went never happened before in all hotels we stayed from Hilton, Hyatt, and motel red roof. As a 4 stars hotel The Giacomo should have known not to go to the room when the sign Do Not Disturb is up on door. My entire stayed on this hotel 🏨, I gave 3 stars based on the Spacious of our room, walk distances to the Falls and Seneca Casino. Friendly staffs.

DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! READ FIRST!!!! After arriving late to Niagara Falls, I parked temporarily in a loading zone next to the hotel at 222 1st St, intending to find out more about the surrounding properties before booking. I am a single female traveler, unfamiliar with the area. When I was checking my parking, a woman approached my vehicle and rudely asked “Are you staying at The Giacomo or Quality Inn?”. I hesitated only because I was tired and still in the process of confirming which hotel I would be staying in. I wasn’t expecting anyone to be talking to me this late at night and I was scared. I knew I wanted a nice hotel like Giacomo or Hyatt, but before I could give a complete answer of my intentions, she abruptly told me I couldn’t park there and warned that my car would be towed and very disrespectfully, turned to walk away as I was muttering my words. Notably, there was a white SUV parked in the same loading zone with no one inside and no visible loading or unloading taking place. About two minutes later, a bigger woman came outside and began yelling at me, again threatening to tow my car. I attempted to point out that the sign allowed 15-minute loading, and I had only just arrived, but she made it clear she had no interest in listening. I stayed for a minute longer stunned and worried about the situation I was in, and she came out with her phone and scanning my car and taking my number plates. I have traveled extensively for both work and leisure and have never experienced such hostility, disrespect, or aggression by any hotel staff. Based on how I was treated, I did not feel safe and decided I could not stay at a hotel where guests, or even potential guests, are spoken to and treated with such lack of basic human courtesy.

Booked a three night stay at The Giacomo Hotel in mid February. We booked a corner room expecting a scenic view of the area, however we found upon checking in that Floors 7 through 16 are all residential apartments. We ended up with a lovely corner room on the 2nd floor with a view of a wall and a parking lot. There is also a MAJOR problem with the energy saving feature of the rooms. Rather than requiring a room key being inserted into a slot to provide power to the room, the rooms have a motion sensor mounted on the wall that turns on the power to the room when motion is detected. Well when you fall asleep, the motion detectors will fail to detect you, causing you to wake up to a freezing cold room in the morning. If you have a medical device like a CPAP machine, it will shut off in the middle of the night unless plugged into a specific unmarked outlet. The front desk initially misidentified this outlet for me, so I spent my first night with my CPAP machine shutting off intermittently causing me to repeatedly wake up due to not being able to breath. We also had a diesel generator fire up right outside of our window for 15 minutes straight when we were trying to sleep in... We really wanted to like this hotel due to the vintage look, very friendly staff, and nice breakfast, but we will not be returning or recommending The Giacomo Hotel.

Stayed for my 10yr wedding anniversary. Limited parking when checking in. After check in you will receive a code to get into the big black gate across the street. Gated parking was a plus! Greeted by Lenny the GM. Super friendly person. He explained everything well and even wished us a happy anniversary. Including the next morning.Positive! Stayed in room 508. Lights came on when entering and light music playing. Nice touch. Room was very cool looking and on the corner of the building for excellent vews. Positive! Didn't notice non cleanliness like others commented. Yes. The windows are in need of a cleaning. The room could use some tlc. Had some peeling wallpaper in bathroom. Neutral! Free breakfast. Stop complaining about free. In my opinion the young women running that kitchen needs to be held onto at all cost. Fantastic, FRESH, breakfast. Loved it. I didn't try for room service. I did see the advertisement. If it is advertised and not offered then yes. That needs updated. Positive! The location of the hotel is in a perfect spot! Walking distance to everything. Always know which way to walk when coming back because the building is unique and can be seen from almost everywhere.Positve! I had two negative experience and that was with night management. We started our stay with only a half roll of toilet paper. I called down Friday night and asked if extra was stored somewhere else in the room because there was none in the bathroom. She asked if I would like for her to run some up. Yes please! I waited 30-45mins. I went down myself to the unattended desk with a roll of tp on it. Two individuals standing just outside the first set of doors and the lobby smelling of pot. I took the tp and headed back up. She never came. NEGATIVE! We ended up checking out at 4am Sunday morning to get a head start on our long trip home. Again, desk unattended. I called the number written on the table top. A lady who was clearly sleeping answered and told me to just leave my keys on the counter and she would check me out when she gets back to the desk.Negative

Also the desk lamp in room 508. The switch is faulty. It needs replaced before it burns the place down.

I would stay here again. The positives and Lenny's attitude out weighed my few negative...

awesomeness... we wanted to stay longer. We were very happy we picked that hotel.

Liked · 1 like the character of building; the rooms had velvet wallpaper and blackout curtains. Two people can fit in spar tub laying down; Im 6.1 and my wife is 5.5. She laid back on my chest and used her feet to keep us from sliding down. The spar tub will fit a person 6.9 sitting against back of tub with leg straight. The beds are spring beds with sponge topper. I have a $1500.00 foam mattress in my bebroom and i slept good on the hotel mattress. Was on honeymoon and Im going to get the same mattress for my play room because the recoil of the hotel mattress allowed for one of the best after date nights EVER!!!!!!!!!!! There is no recoil for regular movement. In fact, I had to check because bed doesn't sleep like a spring mattress. My God did that mattress, just saying it fulfill our dreams and commitment to each other how a wedding night should be and more. I want that bed!!!! 🛌 Nevertheless, there is also a nice view from the room window, and there is a lounge one flight up from the eighteen floor where we viewed the Falls. It's just not as awesome as that bed. 😏😁

2 The staff was awesome, especially the manager 3 The elevators are fast without jearking. 4 I could not hear outsider noise from the street or next door. 5 Breakfast was top notch and can be ordered to room. 6 parking is across from the hotel. 7 they lock main door at night for safety, the room key opens the main door.

Disliked · The light didnt work in room closet. There is no microwave in room however- there are 2 on first floor to use. At first we found the room to be okay but within 45 minutes it grew on us. We were going to book a room at the Casino however, we were glad we didn't even with the closet and light over the sink not working. There are fire sprinklers in room. I would cover pipes with a tight fitted box and cover with same wallpaper in room or color as the pipe takes away how beautiful room is. Iwould also get a person to paint a blue sky on ceiling with clouds or glue...
