We stayed for 4 nights and 5 days. check in was easy. The receptionist are very sweet and make everything feel easy. if your stay is for example $800 CAN expect to pay $1200 CAN $200 CAN being the room deposit. you’ll get it back at check out. There is parking which ends up being almost 200 dollars as well as a resort fee or tax on top of the actual tax which end up being something else. Parking is dreadful on the weekend you spend a lot of time looking for parking in the hotel when coming to the hotel as it’s very busy. when it’s busy (the weekends) expect the elevator wait to be 5 to 10 minutes because everytime you think the elevator is coming to you it ends up being full. when we got to our room it was clean and looked like it was just cleaned so no complaints about that. the overall room service is a bit slow. my son split something on the counter and it wasn’t cleaned (mind you i had nothing to clean it with or disinfect) i had to request it to be cleaned multiple times, the cups if you use them you have to request new ones or they’ll just put them back dirty, when the room is cleaned there’s a strong vinegar and bleach kind of smell not sure what it is. and cleanings usually take a few hours so find something to do …. because my family came back twice and the room was still being cleaned. on the first night the top blanket made everyone itchy and i had to request them to be changed and i’m pretty sure they did because my sons had no complaints after. the toilet paper didn’t get changed until i requested. they will literally leave the roll there regardless if it’s basically done. If they don’t come to your room to clean it just request on the app and they’ll come. the cleaning workers are very nice and sweet. In terms of the food , in the hotel they have many food places, it’s not expensive but not that tasty either. My family went to the fallsview dinner buffet and paid $250 CAN for 3 adults and one child because if you have kids over 12 they count as an adults, plus drinks because it’s not included. There is a falls view tax regular tax and some other tax that we weren’t sure of. The food at the buffet was very mediocre. there’s a salad bar , people making pasta and dessert as well as an assortment of meats, not every flavourful but it is something to eat , most definitely not worth $250 dollars they do let you keep the cups though. the casino is very quiet and the dress is casual, drinks are regular casino drinks tbh, workers are very nice. The waterpark is very packed so expect long lines. the water is very very warm in the pools seen many questionable things floating around. also don’t know if it’s pee or heat regulated. you can definitely save your money and not go as it’s not that exciting? but the kids might like it my 15 year old son found it underwhelming and he loves waterparks n swimming. the staff at the front rush you kind of even if there’s no one behind you but are nice. saw many kids working. The food around the hotel is quite pricy if you don’t like spending a bunch. we probably spent over $800CANon food , for 4 people at the rainforest cafe we spent $260CAN and some change but that’s because everything in the menu is about 35-45 dollars for one meal staff is lovely. Rudy’s or Ruby’s can’t remember which was probably the only place we spent less than that and it’s because my son didn’t feel like eating and they don’t have the niagara tax & is cheap$130CAN for 3 Almost all the restaurants in the surrounding area of the hotel have regular tax and the niagara tax and are slightly overpriced, for a family of 4 expect over $200CAN on each meal if your kids eat. even if you order the cheap stuff it’s still going to come up to a lot so come ready to spend. Beware of denny’s in the area though the waiters will automatically put a 18% tip if u aren’t looking. The activity’s are fun for the kids and are a good deal if you get the package. they loved the activities and snacks around the area. overall the stay was fine but food could be better for the price it is and cleaning could be...
Read moreWent for 1 night stay at this hotel with my 11yr old and his best friend/mom and visited the water park. The fact, that I just came 5 days ago from Qatar/Abu Dhabi and their amazing luxuries hotels which you get for a decent amount just made it worst. Was several times at Niagara Falls over the past years, but this time we stayed at the Sheraton and visited the water park. I used to be one of Starwood’s highest tiers, before I moved to Hyatt. Therefore I have seen a lot of hotels. I have to say, it’s the biggest tourist trap ever and I have not seen less quality for what you pay. The hotel is a busy, overrated, highly frequented worn out hotel, which had it’s best days in the past. The woman who checked us in, put us in a room which was already occupied by different guests. Our key cards didn’t work, therefore we asked the cleaners to open the door for us, just to find other guests in our designated room. No apologies. The next room we got, was on a dirty floor and the room had NO window. The woman asked us, if we would like to upgrade to have a lake view and I told her, that we don’t need to see the water falls but she didn’t tell us, that there is no window. It was the most depressing room, I have been in my life. Worn out furniture, worn out paint, dated m/damaged bathroom. This is fine for 100$-130$ but for 534$ for 1night? Truly it’s a BIG tourist trap! And it’s dirty. The pool towels which are handed over in a paper bag at the reception are tiny and broken. Do bring your own. Went to the water park with the kids.It was described as a heated tunnel to the park, in reality, you wonder around thru arcades, restaurants and cold common areas in various hotels with bathing clothes/ robes and freeze to death. Hardly any signs and staff wouldn’t know where to send you or give directions. You wonder, why the staff doesn’t get a hotel tour? Once we entered the water park, it was a shock to reality and my system. The park is a little dirty pool, another splash area and some slides with long waiting where you had more than 1 hour wait time. That’s the water park. Such a park you have in Europe in every bigger town. It was absolutely not worth the 3 hours drive as I expected a massive pool, sand, sun beds and tropical decor with good food etc. Reality was, that there were not enough chairs to sit on, people crumpled in the little pool which was then closed for almost 2 hours due to someone’s poo(!!!!) inside. The pool staff walked around with a pool skimmer to take it out and cleaned the skimmer under the pool splash - how disgusting. I am sure, if I would have taken my pool diagnostics, I would have found more pee than water inside that pool. Was handled in a very unprofessional way. Food at the waterpark was expensive and not tasteful. Overall m, I wouldn’t consider it as clean and I would never come back. You pay Ressort fees for the Sheraton and you wonder for what. Sorry, but what Ressort? Normally resorts do have a lavish pool, internet, parking, breakfast and other amenities included. Here it’s just a way to top the basic hotel rate. Internet didn’t work at the beginning, parking was another 80$ on top. Normally parking us included in the Ressort fees. I am sorry, the most expensive hotel in Toronto doesn’t charge that much for parking and in Manhattan I didn’t paid that much in a lavish hotel. At your hotel you get insulted by unfriendly staff (“you have to ask for your car 20 min prior to departure “) on top of the 80$ which you pay for the parking. The tone was absolutely not acceptable. If you don’t like your job, don’t work there! The Starbucks located in the Sheraton was another disaster. Prices of sandwiches were doubled towards other locations, another luxury fee on top. Other countries charge a small tourist fee upon entry to the country, Niagara Falls takes advantage of their own Canadians with additional fees. Very sad, would...
Read moreWe love Niagara Falls. Sheraton Fallsview Hotel has ruined it for us.
Took my wife & daughter on an epic road trip for my wife’s birthday—ended with a nightmare at Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls, booked through Expedia. Paid $700+ for a two-night stay, expecting a "no [falls] view" room. Instead, we got a windowless closet, barely fitting the bed. The room was so claustrophobic that I was utterly embarrassed. After a long useless discussion, I was forced to pay to upgrade to a room with a window—only to be placed next to the elevator shaft. For the past 3 hours, we've been subjected to relentless noise, making it impossible to sleep. This isn't hospitality; it's predatory. Never again with this hotel chain or Expedia. They treated us like we didn't deserve to be here.
#TravelFail #NeverAgain
Long version:
I took my wife and daughter on an epic road trip for my wife’s birthday, traveling from North Bay, Ontario, to Quebec City, Bar Harbor, Maine, through the Vermont mountains, and finishing with a stay at Niagara Falls. This was supposed to be the grand finale of our trip, but instead, it turned into a nightmare, thanks to Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls @MarriottBonvoy.
I booked our stay well in advance through @Expedia, choosing what was advertised as a "no view" room. During checkout, it was presented as a luxurious two queen-sized bed room without a view. Since the hotel is called "Fallsview," I naturally assumed this meant we wouldn’t have a view of the falls. But when we arrived on the 27th at 4 pm and checked in, we were shocked. The room was on the fourth floor, and when I opened the door, I was greeted with a space smaller than some of the cheapest motels I’ve ever stayed at—an absolute closet. But it gets worse. "No view" on @Expedia apparently means "no window." Yes, you read that right—this organization @MarriottBonvoy is so shameless that they rent out storage spaces as rooms. I paid roughly $700+ for two nights, booking nearly two weeks in advance, and I was given a closet without a window, a claustrophobic space that felt like a prison cell.
To put this in perspective, the $94 USD room I got in Vermont when we got lost at night in the mountains with no reservation was far superior to this closet. I was utterly embarrassed in front of my wife after such a long, special trip. I immediately went to the lobby to rectify the situation, but after much back-and-forth, the only solution @MarriottBonvoy offered was to make me pay an upgrade fee for a real room with a window. Not a single other consideration was offered. Despite my frustration, I accepted because I needed to put my wife and daughter in a proper room so we could move on from this disaster and enjoy the rest of our vacation.
But that’s not where this story ends. After paying the upgrade fee and getting new keys, we finally settled into our new room. At first glance, it seemed like the day was saved. But here I am, writing this at 1:30 am, because for the past three hours, we’ve been unable to sleep. The hotel moved us to room 1738, which is basically inside the elevator shaft. Yes, you read that correctly. Every few seconds, it feels like a train is flying by, accompanied by the constant buzzing of an electric coil or something similar.
This is absolutely unacceptable. The management at @MarriottBonvoy knows exactly what rooms they have, and they chose to stick us in this one, knowing full well the noise would be unbearable. After all the trouble we went through, this is how they "resolved" the issue—by putting us in a room where sleep is impossible. I’ll never book anything through @Expedia again. And I will certainly never stay at another @MarriottBonvoy property. They treated us as if we didn’t deserve to be there, first with an overpriced closet labeled as a room, and then with a "train station for the night." This kind of treatment is...
