Island Time Family Charters — Attraction in Clearwater

We booked a last-minute two hour kids trip for my seven year-old twin boys. It was the perfect amount of time for them to stay interested. Captain Mikey put us on a great spot and we got mackerel, a few other species, and even hooked a shark. He is incredibly knowledgeable and was so patient with the kids- one who is a fishing nut and the other who has autism and can be a little hard to redirect. He cleaned the fish when we got to shore and was so helpful with instructions on how to store it. We’re flying out and ended up checking a cooler with some gel packs to bring our fish back, which was pretty cheap and easy. With 20+ lb of fresh Spanish mackerel to take home, I figure we absolutely got our money’s worth from the trip!

Capt Mikey and Josh were recommended by Jonathan at Bluffs tackle and I can he was spot on. My wife and I booked a half day grouper/snapper trip that was lock and load from the first drop and from each stop afterwards. I was impressed that they took the time before our charter began to load up with live bait that maximized our fishing time. Both are experienced and knowledgeable anglers, enthusiastic, patient and simply fun to be with. Mikey’s boat and equipment/tackle is very well maintained, comfortable and quick. Our family of four, with two children ages 3.5 and 6.5, had so much fun. Captain Mike made everything simple and easy for us. He made fishing with “excited littles” stress free. His knowledge of the water, conditions and fish is evident. He was very accommodating to us when our originally planned time was windy with a chance of a storm.
