To start the story, I had made a reservation for my father birthday dinner more than a week ago, becuase I saw a lot of good reviews and would love to try out the new place by the beach. The food itself I would give a 6 stars because it’s fantastic. It super delicious and really tasty. We have eat out many many restaurants but here the food is super good. (But I will not bringing my whole family coming back here) Now here was the downside, “OUR SERVER” wasn’t happy to come to work I guess. The minute I walked in after I parked I already see the attitude toward my family. I know that he will get his tips % no matter what because we’re party of 6. But please at-least show some respect when you’re a server toward your customers. I watch and saw how “Ashley” or any other servers in that place, greet their customers once they sat down. Show them how they are being welcome. But he did not show us any of that, When he took our order he took it without writing it down, when I asked him just to make sure “can you remember it all?” His reply was “uh huh”(“in a don’t care attitude”)So does that show you how respect he was to his paying customers? And walked passed us all the time but not 1 time look to see if we need any refill or anything else. My mom have to “asked” for a refill. But no did not bother to serve right away, walked around chit chat and have to “asked” again. So when brought the food out missing one sushi plate, but that’s okay we can wait, it not big deal. But what bothering me the most is his attitude that ruin everyone moment tonight. That we thought it would be a great evening dinner for my father birthday. I have been to many many restaurants, I have my own standard, if the food even though it’s super good, but the services not good then it doesn’t worth my time coming back, because that’s how they run their place. They don’t set a standard to train their employees. But if the services is super top notch but the food wasn’t that good on that day, I will give it another chance. Because everyone have their own bad day of seasoning the food, it can be fix. **so here is my advice to whom ever visiting or willing to try out this place, the food is super good, but be sure to ask for anyone else to serve you, DO NOT ASK FOR “JERMAINE K”….He will treat you like you don’t even exist as a paying customers, and be sure to get “uh huh” as an answer, and be sure to ask for things several time. And be sure to expect that he come to serve you “without” any SMILE. Just with a upset face like”I don’t want to come to work today, please eat fast...

I came with a group of 7. I think everyone enjoyed their meal - as we finished off all of our plates. I personally had the Niku Udon and thought it was delicious - it has braised short rib in it. I think it was a little overpriced for its portion but also I had a traumatic experience and had a splinter of hard charred meat get stuck on the side of my tongue. At first I thought it was the chopsticks I was using but when I ran in the bathroom I saw it was black and definitely thicker than some chopstick wood strand. After I got that out, I was still hungry I took another bite of the meat and it had hard burnt pieces on the edge and so I just didn’t finish that part off. Also, the sweet tea tasted odd to me, wouldn’t touch that again. Service - mediocre. Besides my group of 7 there were two other tables in the small restaurant a family and a couple. The parents let their 8 year old appearing son run in and out of the restaurant and yelled something about Jesus; then kept running back and forth to the bar table to talk to a server and then ask his parents for money while he rudely kept bumping into my friends chair. Our waitress didn’t check on us to fill our waters and was just conversing with another waitress and we had to walk up to them to ask for our check and water refill since she wasn’t looking toward our table. And I wish the staff would have said something to that kid’s parents as he disturbed the vibes of the restaurant. Would have rather tipped the cooking staff directly than pay an included gratuity.
I would overall go there again if I wanted Udon because I think experiences can change with different staff. I rated 4 stars because I did enjoy a lot my udon and seaweed salad before my splinter. Would probably go somewhere...
Read moreI love finding ramen spots in every place I visit. Had to come here once I found out it existed in Clearwater. My wife and I arrived at 6 pm and there was no wait, but there were a fair number of patrons inside. The crew members were all friendly and helpful. Great service and it didn’t take long to get the food. My wife ordered the mushroom broth ramen and I got the tonkatsu ramen. I will say it was a touch less salty than I expected. My wife added a little soy sauce to her broth and that balanced it out nicely. She had spicy tofu, and I will say I really enjoyed it, great heat that is temporary. I think it added to the dish. Frankly, I stole some of hers and added it to my meal. My tonkatsu had a generous and tender portion of pork. It wasn’t crispy pork either, but more of the simple pork belly, which worked really well here. The egg wasn’t as seasoned as I would have expected and the yolk was a bit more runny than I would have desired. The broth was nice and got better over time. Flavor-wise I would say this was a solid 8 out of 10. The only problem with the dish was the noodles were clumped together. I’d say this could just be a minor problem, but it was true of both dishes, which had the same noodles. It’s almost like they cooked them but never stirred them, so nearly 1/3 of the noodles wouldn’t break apart. Once again, the flavor was solid, but this really is the reason I’m only giving 4 stars. We also had the veggie dumplings as an appetizer, and they were incredible, some of the best I’ve ever had.
Pros: dumplings (veggie), great service, fair pricing, location isn’t far from the beach. Cons: stuck noodles, egg leaves more to be desired
In short: this place is worth a visit, and can be a good change up from the many seafood and bar food locations...
