UPDATE: Three years ago, I had nothing but wonderful things to say about this store. That is why I came back in when I was ready to buy another phone. I am big on loyalty. This time, however, the way I was treated was abysmal and it saddens me to have to leave this update.
I came in to replace my phone on June 9, ready to immediately buy one. There was a promotion of $1000 off with a trade in. Okay great! I picked out my phone and was told it needed to be ordered and I would receive a call but it should be in by that Thursday. I wasn't asked to sign anything but was assured everything was handled. The worker was there alone and busy so I figured I'd just sign everything when the phone arrived. A week went by and I got no call. I called the store FOUR TIMES throughout this entire ordeal but no answer, no return calls from the messages I left. I finally came back in only to be told they never ordered the phone and the promotion was now $800 off and they would not honor the original promotion. I stayed calm because I get that mistakes happen. I asked to speak to a manager but no one was available. The worker messaged the manager who did not respond for over an hour. I waited then went and had dinner then came back before the manager blew me off through the employee and offered me a discount on accessories. Um, that is not what I asked for. I wanted them to honor their quote, accept accountability for dropping the ball and poor service, and maybe even an apology. But nope, it was all deflected back on me as if I work there or know the process. This isn't about an accessory discount but about the fact that you dropped the ball and did nothing to rectify the situation. I wasn't even spoken to by the manager and they acted like I was the problem. Even when I gave them the dates and times of my calls I was told sometimes they are too busy to answer or call back. Wow. So, now I have to take my business elsewhere and file an FTC complaint for false business practices. There are rules and laws in place for a reason. After mark lied to me earlier in the week about his ability to call another location to see if they had the phone I wanted in stock, I let him order it for me. Biggest mistake I have ever made! They told me it would be in on a Thursday morning. They never called, so I called them, and was told that they "had received a shipment but hadn't gotten around to opening it yet" it hadn't arrived, so I waited another day, made 4 more calls to the store, was hung up on 3 times, went in to the store, waited for over 30minutes with barely a nod from anyone working, left, called customer service, was told that I needed to return the store to get a return, so I did.
When I told Mark that it was unacceptable that he could not refund my money for my upgrade after he lied to me about when and how my phone would arrive at the store. I told him it was bullshit, and that I had contacted the store in fairview heights and they had 2 in stock, as I was leaving he said something snarky under his breath. I responded, "f**k you, then, I'll call corporate " to which he responded "your momma" Never in the almost 10 years with Verizon have I left a store this upset. Read moreTerrible customer service. One gentleman sold me up the river with a "Liquid Glass Protector," and a phone case that would be durable from a fall of 10 feet. I clumsily dropped my phone, the phone case fell apart and the screen webbed in 3 places. I called the customer service line, who had me call store manager. The store manager was a jerk, would not offer any help, in refunding the case, screen protector, etc. He told me that I would have to file a claim and it was my fault. Now I understand that, is a chance I take, when buying a phone, but they should not support the sale of faulty protection, to make a commission. I only had the phone 5 days!
