I like the two piece I purchase from here, little pricey but worth it. Now I will tell you the experience I received after purchasing here. My card I used was a visa traveler's card. After using it here in Dec, I went on did not use the card again until Jan 7th, of course I'm checking to see if my last transaction went through and guess what, someone on the 6th purchased a airline ticket using my card number with a Asian airline I never heard of,wow. I was quickly trying to think how this happened and the last time before the very last purchased was with this dress shop. Now I can't truly point fingers but my thought is the airline is stationed in another country, they said purchase was made online in America and it was a flight to a country in Asia, wow. But of course the company took the purchase off, change my card number and they are doing their own investigation. What I advise if you use a card here, you better monitor it, they didn't use it right away, but they did test it we found out because before that, after I purchased dress a 15cent purchase was made at olive garden, exactly why and how come, so they look as if they were testing to see if I caught this and I did, I stressed it online, made a note, but didn't really pursue it because it wasn't much, watch that. Anyway, I suggest using cash for this store, or definitely keeping a eye on any card you may have used in here, keep monitoring. But as for me I will no longer do business with a store in which my card number is not at all safe and any store like this I may ask price first and ho get money out ATM or use a...
Read moreI don’t usually leave reviews, but I had an experience today at Shingar in South Park Mall that I think other parents should be aware of—especially those shopping for special occasions.
I took my daughter dress shopping for her birthday. We checked out a few places and ended up at Shingar. The associate was friendly at first and began pulling dresses for my daughter to try on. She wasn’t crazy about the options, but I encouraged her to try a couple anyway—just in case.
While I was looking around, the associate helped tighten one of the dresses for her in the fitting room. My daughter came out, said she didn’t like it, and I told her that’s totally fine—we’ll just look elsewhere. That’s when the associate said, “That’ll be $20.”
Wait, what?
Apparently, there’s a sign high above the dressing room stating there’s a $20 fee if you try on dresses and don’t buy anything. But it was never mentioned by the associate before she tried them on. No heads-up. Nothing.
It’s not about the $20—I would’ve paid that gladly just for her to have a good experience. It’s the fact that I felt blindsided. I’ve never in my life been charged just to try something on.
So to anyone planning to shop at Shingar, just know there’s a fee if you don’t purchase after trying dresses. Wish I’d...
Read moreI am not a formal gown or any kind of dress type of girl. I do not have the body of a slim model. However I will be married in just a few weeks and do not have a wedding budget that I would like. I went in and the lady was assisting about 4 or 5 other customers as I browsed thinking I can not afford these dresses nor did I see any sizes I was comfortable with. Dolly came right up to me asked me a few short questions and within minutes she had me in the perfect gown for my wedding along with the accessories to match. Another thing I love is that they were able to offer me a lay away program so I did not have to purchase the full amount up front. Its been 2 weeks since she found the dress for me and Monday I am going in to pay off the last 26.00 of my dress. I did not feel as if I had been taken advantage of at all for this purchase. I felt tended to as well as her welcoming personality made me happy about this purchase. Thank you Shingar...and thank you Dolly you are the absolute best at what you do !!! My sister is my bridesmaid and she also found the perfect dress as well at Shingar. Please go see Dolly and the crew at Shingar if you need any...
