I personally & a few other families I met during breakfast this morning regret booking our stay here!For starters the reviews were amazing so we thought what could possibly go wrong?It’s our son’s birthday & his best friend just got shot let’s keep his mind off it and go out of town experience a bigger city! You know go play at dave and buster’s,visit the tomatoe festival,visit family and bring laughter amongst each other! Great day turns sour! We check in at approximately 9-9:25 go to our room put on our bathing suits & walk down to the pool! Before we could even open the pool door the manager screamed at us ( do yall have a room here? Yes we do‼️‼️ what is your room number she ask,we have a couple of friends and family that are staying here also but our room number is *!! She proceeds to tell us that we aren’t allowed in the swimming pool! Remind you there’s maybe 10-15 people in there swimming we ask her why aren’t we allowed and she failed to tell us the reason why! So myself and two other adults walk outside the door to smoke while the kids 17-10 stood in the hallway & talk amongst each other! The manager stood there and harassed our children looking over their backs watching their every move! We are outside watching the whole scene play out so we pulled our cameras out & started recording her waiting on my aunt to send me the actual footage of the communication and comments she was saying to our children that my niece was recording so I can upload that also! We continue to ignore her ignorance used our lock key to open door! As we are walking in she’s whispering something to another employee! Well my nephew told us he left something in the car which was park right outside the door to the wright! The door is close we are watching him go to the car grab what he left and watching him as he comes back!! well as he’s walking close to the door I opened it for him the other employee started screaming at me ( no you don’t open th door for him if he don’t have a key card they don’t come in tell him to walk to the front remind you all he is 10 years old and they both heard him say he left something inside of the car!! We continue to be the bigger person ignore their ignorance proceeded to our rooms got settled in and ordered dinner and started watching tv we seen a roach 🪳 crawling my husband got up grab a shoe and killed it! A hour later several of them started coming out, I grabbed my camera to record it to show the front office in the morning for evidence I would have shown them it right then and there but we felt uncomfortable because of their behavior earlier this night!! Long story short I woke up to change my four month old diaper and what do I see?? BUMPS‼️‼️ I recently switched her diapers so I thought it was a reaction of the new diaper!! 8 o,clock this morning my 12 year old woke up itching she asked me to take a look at her shoulders & look here BED BUGS BITE! Went to the front desk told them everything that was going on!! No apologies or anything they just told us house keeping will be in at 9 & they’ll take care of it! I looked at my husband and he looked at me asking each other what could house cleaning possible do in this situation! 9 am come they call our room & told us to gather our things when another room similar to ours come available we will be able to switch! At this point we’re disappointed & disgusted we don’t even want to stay another night which we booked two nights with them so i asked to cancel & be refunded for tonight stay since last night experience was a nightmare she said she’ll call the owner and let me know long story short they told us either we accept a different room or we leave and won’t be refunded!! At this point I’m flabbergasted At his response & and ask the lady how do he expect me to stay another night with roachs crawling around & after my four month old and 12 year old daughters woke up with bed bugs bites they said well mam you’ll be in a different room!! Fantastic budget hotel!

It was clean, friendly staff, had all the amenities I looked for (pool and hot tub, nice room, free breakfast). I stayed four days/three nights and paid for a slight upgrade of a king room with a small sitting area.

Pros:

The room looked like it had a fresh coat of paint and fairly new flooring. It was cute and exactly as described on their website when I booked it. Most importantly it was very clean. I always check hotel rooms thoroughly before unpacking, especially under mattresses and boxspring, and everything looked great. The floor was all tile and LVL flooring so no carpet which made me feel even better about unpacking. My kindergartner and I both thought it was a cool room.

The lobby and free continental breakfast was also clean and cute with plenty of food and hot coffee and tea for guests. We ate there all three mornings of our stay and the breakfast had enough variety that we were happy (cereal, baked goods, fresh oatmeal, and three hot items: sausage, eggs, and some kind of third hot item like French toast sticks)

The pool was nice with fresh towels available and some chairs and tables. We used it for hours for two days and it was pretty busy but big enough that this was not an issue.

Cons:

This is a budget hotel so there are some cons but they weren't anything I cared about very much or wouldn't expect from this type of hotel so I'm not knocking down any stars but they might matter more to some people so here they are. (I've stayed in a few supposed nice hotels that have had many of these same cons but were also filthy and stingy so I guess clean, cute, and friendly goes a long way for me lol)

Everything was a bit economical in the sense that the soaps, conditioner, and lotions were big bottles rather than individual bottles. This is more a pro for me since I don't like the waste and appreciate the cheaper rooms and the product was nice but it might bother some people.

There were some small cosmetic defects that I wouldn't tolerate in a upscale hotel but didn't bother me here. A small hole high up in the dinning area (too high to be a safety concern or for all to notice) where it looked like some electrical work was done. The alarm clock face was missing a plate (still worked fine but cosmetically "broken". A ripped button on the shower curtain. I'm sure there is more but you get the idea. Nothing that actually impacted me or even that most might notice but it's clear there isn't an endless budget for repairs.

There wasn't room service for the days I was there. I'm not sure if this is standard or if they were just short staffed the days I was there but I honestly didn't care and it saved on tip money. They were accommodating every time I asked for something so I'm sure if I had needed more towels or anything I could have easily gotten them.

No cable/local channels only. This matters less and less with streaming and PBS was showing cartoons my kid liked so it worked for us.

The pool water was a bit cloudy stung my eyes a bit more than a typical pool. I think they used a bit more chemicals than they needed. It was sanitary but a bit harsh so bring googles if you want to see underwater. It wasn't so much that it bothered or skin or smelled bad but I think they could save some money on pool chemicals (and have a nicer pool for guests) if they invested a bit more on testing the water.

My daughter liked the bed she said it was soft and comfortable. The room was nice and spacious as well as the bathroom. This morning during checkout I found out that my daughter bathed with shampoo because there was no body wash but there was shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. I have a few complaints with the room cleanliness. A lot of dust under the bed and a cup who knows how long it’s been there seeing as how it doesn’t look like under the bed has been swept in weeks. The top of the microwave was really dusty for the most part inside the microwave was clean. The coffee maker either had coffee grinds on it or it was full of dust and dirt I’m not sure which one it was. A lot of dust buildup in the vent above the shower and mold growing inside the toilet tank. I’m allergic to mold and have an allergy to dust so yes I check usual places, places that a typical person wouldn’t check. When I first walked into the room I was met by some flying insect which appeared to be a gnat and every time we left the room we had to hurry up and close the door because of different insects flying in the hallway. They probably just came in to the building as people entered an exited. I was looking forward to getting in the pool but I couldn’t because the chlorine was burning my eyes as soon as I walked into the pool room but many other guests enjoyed the pool and spa as well as my daughter. My daughter didn’t like the breakfast but many other guests did. I just think she didn’t like it because she’s a picky eater and she likes different seasonings in her food. I returned from the store last night and my room door was open. So I asked the front desk if they mistakenly gave someone the key to my room thinking it was vacant (this has happened before to me a few times renting hotel rooms and I have walked into a room and somebody already had the room) the younger employee was really nice but the older gentleman who I was later told was the manager I felt like his response could’ve been better. However earlier that day when I checked in he was really nice as well as the other staff. I didn’t get any sleep last night and hearing every little noise wondering if somebody was going to come into the room. But when you’re looking at these reviews you need to decide for yourself if any hotel would work for you not just base it off reviews because not everybody’s negative experiences will be the same. I also, I’m shocked to see that Google has this place listed as 2 star hotel at the very least a three star if not a 3.5. I’m not sure how the star...
