I just got home a bit ago from getting my hair TRIMMED here, I’m not normally one to complain about a haircut, it is just hair after all… but I gave pretty clear instruction on how I wanted my bangs to be cut and now I look absolutely insane with no chance of being able to fix them for at least a month or two. I asked for the sides to be left longer and just to clean up the middle a little, just below my eyebrows, a little on the wispy side and what I was left with (just getting a good look now that I am home and can style it the way I normally would) was semi-straight across (I say semi because the OUTER part of them is somehow shorter than the middle part of them) bangs that are only below my eyebrows if I push them down with my hand. Not to mention, I have a weird hairline as it is, so this just serves to emphasize that fact, which is awesome. It doesn’t even look good for straight across bangs, let alone for rounded, somewhat face framing bangs like I asked for (and already had, mind you- they just needed a trim) I’ve had some bad luck with my bangs in the past few months (because I cut trimmed them too short myself) but to think I paid for something that looks worse than my own attempt? My original thought was that I’ve had ok experiences in the past at Ulta salons, my normal stylist is booked for weeks, and in the essence of saving some money the price sounded right. Maybe I’m just being critical because I had an image in my mind based on what I said I wanted, and this is nothing like that. But suffice it to say, I’m just glad I don’t have any major events coming up in the next couple of weeks, because until this grows out a bit more I’m going to be aggravated enough trying to make it look ok for work. The haircut itself was ok I suppose, but I’d be more ok if the length or layers were jacked up because at least I could hide it while...
Read moreThe employees at this ULTA are pretty rude. I shop at ULTA often spending hundreds of dollars a year (platinum member), and every time I go to this one I feel unwelcomed, no one every greets me - where as at any other ULTA they greet you with a "Welcome In", not this one. In addition, on the floor no one greets you with a how are you, can I help you find something, smile etc. They look down and walk right by you. I was once looking on the shelf for a concealer, when I picked up the only shade that was left in my color, it was already opened. Somehow one of the managers saw this tiny opened concealer in my hand from behind the checkout counter and comes over and tells me that opening products is not allowed (DUH!!) how rude!!! The next time I came back I returned a product that did not work out for me(it happens) I was treated as if I had committed some kind of crime. The cashier was not friendly at all, kept asking me if I had used the item and why I was returning them repeatedly, after I already told her once it didn't work for me. PLUS when she finished the refund she asked me to insert the debit card I had used and after digging through my purse looking for it, I realized I forgot it at home. I asked if I could have cash back since it was on my DEBIT card and she said absolutely not and made a big fuss. I had to basically argue to get MY own money back after a manager came up and approved it. Oh and the manager told me it was the last time she was going to do that - as if I planned on coming back to do it again. Never shopping at this ULTA again. P.S. Where is the diversity in this store?! Only people who work here are stuck up middle aged white women or clueless 18 year old high schoolers who huff and puff and roll their...
Read moreI am completely in love with this store! I may have been in there once several years ago, but it was a quick trip. This week when I went, I was on a mission to check out a brand of makeup I saw in a magazine the night before. There's a "beauty/ cosmetic" store at Easton Gateway which I thought was in fact Ulta the prior evening; it is NOT.
I walked in and my mouth fell open like a 4 year old on Christmas morning. Why have I not discovered this fantastic store before? To my right, I see a blaring Lancome sign, and a Clinique sign, to my left, makeup and hair care, and FRAGRANCE! There are no excuses to ever be out of my favorite perfume again hubby and sons!
I took the pictures to send to my sons with the stores name and "Gift card" as the message. Their shopping can be all wrapped up! I shopped some, (don't make me come clean, my husband may read this some day) and then met Hope, who works at the Clinique counter. I didn't have any intention on getting back on the Clinique line, but Hope set me straight in a good way! If your skin needs attention, go see Hope.
Today I went into the Brow bar and my mom and I had back to back appointments. I am totally drawing a blank on her name and I apologize, but she was outstanding! For brows and dye it was $34. Not bad!
Did I say I love this store? Super friendly and they will make you look pretty. 😁
*I have read some other reviews of this store complaining of snooty staff who were unwilling to help. I ignored them, and chose not to include those details because I don't let people like that ruin my fun. There were a couple on my trip who were not feeling social, but again, everyone has bad days...
