Charleys Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Columbus

*THIS REVIEW IS FROM MAY 24TH 2020 OVER $50 SPENT * I stopped out today with a larger purchase for 5 subs and 2 kids meals. The kids meals were perfect (although they almost forgot the oreos). But sadly when it came to the subs, we weren't as lucky. I asked for my regular to be spread across a large bun, as the portions are a bit much for me. When they got to my sub, the meat was overcooked and almost all the cheese melted to the grill, then moved to a regular bun. I corrected the young lady and she moved the meat by handfuls to a large bun. I asked for additional cheese and its thrown on the grill and put on just one end of the philly. My husband then asked the manager, whom at this point is burning more meat to the rest of my sandwiches, trying to correct my one. My husband then asks for mine to be remade. That certainly upset the manager on the grill, we apologized and said thank you for remaking that with no response. We drove all the way from Mansfield JUST for a Philly. I spent time at GOSH enterprise and I know John did not train any one to act on behalf of Charley's in such a manner. I spent a few years of my life as an AGM for Charley's until I moved on due to poor management in our store and I am strongly upset that I had such a visit at this location. Although the meat was overcooked on multiple philly's, they were still eaten. I hope this was just a fluke and my next visit can be more remarkable. It's been a few years since I was able to have Charley's Philly Steaks and I am disappointed. Please work on customer service and interactions. So I couldn't find a way to get just water from the fountain machine, but I have no real room for complaint - a helpful person from the counter came out and literally poured it for me. But management - at least put out a cheap sign. I watched that "dance" happen over and over while I ate there.

The subs at Charley's only come in "hot" - no cold subs. Fine on a chill October day, but during the hot summer, that would make them less desirable. I went with a medium Italian sub, and Charley's included a sizeable packet of flavorful, enticing vinaigrette dressing. The sub was excellent - especially the deli meat, which made the sandwich what it was - packed with flavor. It was presented butterflied and cut in two, but one of the halves lacked a lot of the ingredients which the other half had. It was imbalanced enough that I found the need to reassemble the hot sandwich with my fingers before consuming it.

Fries were long and a quarter inch thick and while prepared perfectly, they lacked flavor, although none went to waste. Personnel were friendly, smiling, eager to please, fast, and on point - I always like that. It makes a difference. All in all, but for a couple of nits Charley's was a good experience - one I'll...

The manager is childish and unprofessional plus this place is known for ripping you off...the one located on Polaris pkwy. Usually a combo order for the 4 of us comes to $50...then the guy said he didn’t charge us for fries but we got combos?. So he wanted to charge us 2.99 each for our fries which doesn’t make any sense...so we complained to the manager and she, with out a doubt will lose business if she’s in charge. So rude and unprofessional and didn’t even try to understand just started to yell and got catty. She said fine if your not happy then I’ll give your money back and you can eat somewhere else. So she proceeded to do so...AND SHE DIDNT EVEN GIVE US OUR FULL MONEY BACK! Even though we showed her the receipt...another worker said she would give us money out of her pocket. This is the second time they try to rob us of our money and can’t even be dealt wit because they’re unprofessional...the workers at this location were horrible specifically the manager which doesn’t even deserve to be one with...
