Houston Halloween: Best Haunted House Spots!

Came here for the first time with my family. We got the “Skip the Line” passes. Yes, a bit more expensive, but it’s worth it. The lines were really long, but we literally cut in front of everyone. Just remember, it’s not the same as the “Fast Pass.” We’re not from the Cypress area and it took us about 2hrs to drive here so we wanted to get in and out. Please remember that most, if not, all haunted attractions are pretty pricey. This place is priced similar, but I feel you get a better experience. I LOVE Halloween and I’ve been to tons of attractions spending all my life savings away lol. They tend to get redundant and predictable. This is basically 3 different themes all in one massive haunted house attraction. Probably the largest walkthrough that I’ve ever been to. I would like to see staff space out the groups as we enter because we ended up getting jammed up with customers behind and in front of us and we went in separately. This attraction has a mix of dizzy and/or abnormal pathways so just be prepared. If you don’t scare easily like me, this ISN’T scary at all, buuuut it’s still fun to go through. If you’re a scaredy cat, then you’ll die in here lol nah jk. The characters won’t touch you so don’t be hitting them. They also have an escape room and a zombie gel-ball shooting attraction. Overall, definitely worth experiencing once. Staff are friendly and fun. It’s a 1 story building and not on the 13th floor lol. Buy your tickets online and sign your waiver because they don’t have a ticket booth. You don’t have to wear shoes, but there are parts of this attraction that has abnormal pathways that might make you lose your sandals or heels. There is a lot of parking. There are metal detectors so make sure you’re not bringing in anything you’re not to bring in. They even ask you to empty out your pockets. There are few food stands and they have a gift shop. They have characters scary customer as you wait outside and have some cool decor to take personal pics with.

Here’s the thing: The atmosphere is great, inside and out. There was a werewolf with a chainsaw running around outside, drinks, great music, and the place looked awesome. The line actually went really fast which was weird saying that all the tickets were sold for that night. After taking a picture, waiting in another very short line, I realized the main problem of this haunt. The spacing. The event staff was sending dozens of people in at once, with little to no spacing in between groups. This resulted in a massive line throughout the entire haunt, we were even at a full stop at one point. This was why the line was moving so fast. This resulted in actors not being able to scare us near as much as they could have. This brings me to my next point, the actors. For the most part, they were great. The costumes. Scares. I even fell onto the floor one time someone scared me so bad. Unfortunately, there were very few real people inside and it was mostly loud noises, strobe lights, and props/animatronics. (Which were all great btw.) The actors that did scare me were very passionate and did a fantastic job. The only problem was that there weren’t enough of them and there were even actors missing from their spots. There were tons of spots where an actors could have been that would have really scared us but they just weren’t there. It is also advertised that it takes 30-45 minutes to walk through. Even with the massive, slow, backed up line, we were out in less than 20. Disappointing. Finally, the themes. (The doll maker, vampires vs werewolves, and dead in the water.) the props were great but unfortunately the actors looked nothing like the theme that they were supposed to be portraying. It was confusing. Overall this place in disappointing because of the tremendous potential. Even if they couldn’t get more actors or fix the themes, all that needs to happen is to put more space between groups. this place is more for people who are easily scared. (Younger girls, etc.) but overall my friends and I still had fun, we will be back next year with high hopes. Please fix the spacing and have more actors. Please. If you read comments. This is the only thing people complain about. Just space people out. It feels like you’re running a cash grab carnival event when you send tons of people in like that. 6/10

The decor inside was very nice, each room was throughly put together as well as very kind workers and a lengthy trail inside but honestly it wasn’t worth the money at all … we went tonight on a Monday so I’m not sure if that was our first mistake or not. There was a wait but that was to be expected and the wait time wasn’t too long but maybe that’s the issue because too many people are going inside at a time or perhaps more actors are needed, we seen every single jump scare that was ahead of us and pushed forward multiple times plus most rooms were completely empty. This haunted house may be more suitable for children on a scare aspect but definitely not teens or adults especially with such a high price point. We honestly weren’t scared at all but like I said the decor was nice and in the beginning of the house you get a picture with your group to purchase plus multiple photo opportunities.
