This review is for the Walmart Supercenter/ Cypress located at 26270 Northwest Freeway, Cypress, Texas 77429.
This review concerns my in-store visit on Thursday 03-18-2021 around 8 am. I encountered the WORST customer service of any Walmart store I have ever been in, in any state. My $$ and I will not be shopping at this location again, EVER. Several (3) employees I came into contact with were indifferent, rude and purposefully not helpful. I contacted the Walmart Corporate office regarding this sub-standard shopping/ check out experience and spoke w/ a woman who politely (but incorrectly) took my information. She explained that each store does things differently, but their stores are "moving toward less hands on contact with checking customers out" and she explained I should be prepared for this in the future. I politely explained that I have a job, which I was on my way home from that morning and it is not as a cashier. I have NO interest in shopping for $300.00+ worth of items, only to have to scan them and bag them myself, after working all night. I further explained if this is their plan, I will plan to spend my money and my time in a business like HEB or Target, where cashiers and (other associates) are courteous and helpful, instead of menacing and rude.
I want to be clear about my source of displeasure with this Walmart store and their employees. The people working in the store as stockers were, on this occasion and other on shopping trips, pleasant and helpful. The problem lies with the associates (at least 4-6 of them that morning) who are assigned to watch you scan your purchases, but refuse to assist in checking you out, and the two women who were working at the (so called) Service Desk. When I approached them, they had to stop playing on the phone, to have a short conversation with me. I explained I had several hundred dollars worth of items in my basket, which they could clearly see and I would appreciate someone assisting w/ checking my purchases out. I was told "This is self-checkout time. You'll have to do it yourself." I asked 1. if one of the other associates could check me out (they said "No") and 2. if they were serious and I was told "Yes." I then informed both women that there were a number of frozen/ refridgerated items in the basket and they should have someone return them to the "cold cases" as I would NOT be handling any cashier duty today or any other day. I walked out of the store and that will be the last time I walk into that store. They will not get another minute of my time or another penny of my money.
On Monday 03-22-2021, around 5 pm, I received a phone call from the store manager at the Walmart Supercenter in Cypress. We spoke for about 15 minutes. He had received some incorrect information about "long lines at checkout", so I epxlained what the actual situation was and why I called the corporate office to complain. While I appreciate the phone call, I got the feeling that the problem as described would NOT be improved upon. I thanked him for his time, but I told him I would be taking my business elsewhere. These store associates/ employees seem to have a lazy attitude and it seems the "take it or leave it" attitude is ingrained. I'm not interested in spending my time or money where the majority of employees don't seem to care which way it goes. I'm voting w/ my checkbook/ debit card and the vote is to take my money and business...
Read moreYou know honestly it started off not great… I went to Home Depot and it’s not their fault they didn’t have what I needed and definitely not at the price I would’ve needed it, but I understand the entire city needs materials right now from pipes bursting...
It was very hard not to stop at hobby lobby right next to Home Depot especially since I had the urge to Spend money, but I don’t have. And of course Waterman Burger was right there with people just zipping in Cruisin right on through the drive-through line… But I’d say what was the nicest about the Plaza is that as I was waiting to exit to get back on my route, I happened to notice a discount tire, and they looked pretty busy but my tire keeps going flat so I figured I should stop. They had an air pressure check which is phenomenal for this time of year because who’s air pressure isn’t changing when it’s 30° in the morning and then 80 to 90 in the afternoon. I was able to get my tires checked out and changed and out of there in under an hour… And I was able to get back on the road really quickly this place is very conveniently located lots of great shops and lots of great...
Read moreLike any other Home Depot, it has majority of the things that you “need” to get the job done for DIY’s. I have noticed recently their inventory seems to be off, I have placed multiple curbside pickups only to find out half of the things I ordered were not available despite the app saying they have X amount available. Since the beginning of the pandemic I have spent a good $3500+ is lumber, screws, pvc, paint, electrical, bulbs etc. I would have spent another $3500 but I took that business to Lowe’s due to the inaccurate inventory.
Staff is efficient in the sense that if you know what you’re looking for exactly, they’ll take you there. If all you can describe is, “I’m looking for a thing-a-ma-bob that tightens....” they’ll just bounce you around until eventually you get to where...
