I went to Home Depot searching for parts and advice⦠and then wandered in the vast maze like a waif in the wilderness, a penguin in a pig pen, a liberal in the south. You think you see help in the distance but as you run towards him, he vanishes into the distance like a mirage and you are tempted to fall to the floor and sob. Then, when you finally find a representative, it soon becomes obvious that they donāt know diddly in a doghouse. Itās so wrong that your eyes glaze over and the sound coming out of their mouths sounds like moose toots on a muggy day. So I take the same problem to Grovers and the guy glances at the miserable beat up piece of junk in my hand and says, Moen. Old. You need this special tool (that the people at HD have never even heard of). And I say what about this other electrical problem? And he says, oh yeah⦠over here. Is that celestial singing I hear rising like the full moon over a fairy lake? Is that like the whisper of an Angel? Iām back and forth about six times and someone answers every question and has every answer. Iām tempted to ask them about my lumbago and if they have any tips on the stock market. Iām a professional⦠I should know this. What do you do when you need help? You. Go. To. A....

Their prices are competitive with big box home improvement stores that are staffed by people who don't know which end of a shovel goes in the dirt which begs the question- why go to a giant lousy store staffed with nincompoops?
If you need plumbing or electrical parts go to Grover. Their people are way better, and you will get better help, finish your project easier, and be happier about it.
Case in point today I needed a 220v socket and plug. The gentleman who helped me pointed out after I showed him the melted setup that a replacement breaker which was under $20 might be smart. I forgot what kind of breakers my panel takes but I had a picture showing part of one at a lousy weird angle--- he says "yup we have those and they are not expensive" and grabbed me a new double pole breaker. On the way out he reminded me to keep the receipt in case it was the wrong breaker (it wasn't, the man knows his stuff) or I end up not needing it.
Had they gone out to the parking lot and opened my door I probably wouldn't have...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSold me a used/formerly rented crimper as "new" for 90 bucks. After I realized the crimper had been used, I went back for exchange. They only had one more used/rented one. Their return policy is within 3 days you get 90% back, after two weeks only 50% back. I really only wanted an exchange as mine was crimping slightly egg-shaped consistently. Since he only had another used/previously rented to exchange me, and a return would be a kick in the shorts, i exchanged for the other used one, will see how it crimps. Not happy with the lack of transparency. Putting used/rented tools back in its packaging and back on the sales floor at full price as new...Every other store I know keeps their rental inventory separate from their saleable inventory. Here, they pull from the same shelf for rent or final sale. When the rental comes back, it goes back on that same shelf, and the next person comes in and grabs thinking he's buying a new item. If he discovers any issues (very possibly caused by previous renter(s) ) and comes back for a justified return, he gets a...
