I stopped by your 24 hour location in Porter, TX this morning, at about 2:30am. My great plan was to get all my grocery shopping done for the next 2 weeks, so I wouldn't have to return to any store until next month. I discovered, to my dismay, that 2:30am isn't covered under "24/7", at least not at this location. They had a cardboard sign that read "CLOSED 1-3" taped to the front door, and several employees were hanging out near the entrance, smoking cigarettes and cutting up.
Eventually (about 5 past 3) they got around to opening their store. I went in, borrowed one of your electric carts (thank you for having them - I have injuries that make walking/standing difficult) and proceeded to work through my list.
I'm not sure why, but one of your employees took it upon himself to shadow me through the store, always one aisle over, and shout things like, "Mommy, I dot my big boyee pants on dewday!" [sic] I tried to ignore it. Eventually he got bored and found something else to do (something that involved crashing a metal cart into another metal object and yelling things in Spanish, or mock-Spanish, I'm not fluent so I couldn't tell you). I wove my way through the mess left behind by your shelving crews (who had mostly disappeared) and finished picking my items. I went up front to find that only the self-checkout lanes were open.
I found someone wandering back and forth near the cash wrap and asked her if the self-checkout was the only thing open. She looked down at me, squinted and said, "That's all you get, yep."
My recommendation? Shut it down. Clean house. Hire a new regional manager and a new store manager. Then hire new management, and finally hire new staff. Train everyone carefully, then reopen the store. The only reason that store even has a rating above 1.5 on Google is because someone spammed the reviewing system about 4 weeks ago with 5 star,...
Read moreAmber working in the money order department, denied my mother service for a money order. She was asking for an ID which I have asked around and several people have said they 've purchased MO without ID's here. After my mom was unable to purchase the MO my sister walked in (by her self) requesting the MO and she was asked to present her ID & SSN for a MO!! Amber proceeded to tell my sister she did not have any more MO, my sister went back inside and asked if the reason she said they ran out was bc she was with (our mom) and they said yes.
My mother is Hispanic, she cant defend her self or ask why she was denied the service, I was furious. I called twice to speak to a manager and I'm assuming Amber picked up my call twice and hung it up. I had to drive all the way to Kroger to be able to speak to anyone just for them to tell me bc of money laundering they are unable to sell the MO to someone for someone else, yet they asked if they could provide the MO for me without issue .. like isnt it the same thing ? I would be getting a MO for them as well. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and honestly manager said he would talk to them but that doesn't solve the issue or left me at ease.
Oh and Amber laughed when I asked if when denying service the typical answer is "we ran out of MO" she simply responded with "we don't have something specific we say" "everyone lies" I was not rude or talked...
Read moreA day ago, I went into the self-checkout, and the camera accused me of stealing. I had scanned one avocado first, and the machine prompted me to input how many avocados I had, so I put 3. Then I put my single avocado in the bag first, then grabbed the other two to put them in the bag.
The machine thought i was stealing and recorded me on a loop, putting my two avocados in the bag.
Unfortunately, this had never happened before, according to the cashier, and so she didn't know what to do. It was a very embarrassing and humiliating experience, especially being a POC. I literally had to stand there for several minutes while this machine played this loop of me in front of everyone. Eventually, she was told to transfer my purchase to her cashier box, and she was able to see that I did, in fact, put three avocados down.
I paid for my purchase and left. I don't think I'm ever coming to Kroger after this. Not only was this upsetting, but I also noticed they don't have fruit from other countries? I was looking for produce from Mexico and had no luck, I also had difficulty finding yogurt, and their selection of coconut oils was just the Kroger brand. Their Latino section was also poor.
I don't want anything from Kroger at all, i only urge you to please fix your machines so this doesn't happen to...
